AZB - now and then

Is it just me, or is AZB not as good as it used to be?

I had almost all December off from visiting AZB, just reading some threads now and then.

After I started to visit AZB more often again now in January, mostly because of the DCC, I feel like something is wrong with the forum.

Before I always found lots of threads that I wanted to read, and most important, wanted to reply on.

Right now I am tired of all AZB. I am sick and tired of reading page up and page down about Fatboy, Bucktooth and Shane van Boening. I have lost interest, and don't even bother open threads anymore. I just visit AZB to check if there is something interesting, but unfortunately there is almost never anything.

Just wanted to share my feelings with you. Anyone else feel the same, and can explain it better than me?
 
I think everyone is just caught up in everything that happened in Louisville. I am hopefull all this Fatboy stuff will die down, I am sure it will since he starts most of the threads, others will get tired of them and they will eventually slow down.

Agreed...trash sells, just look at supermarket checkouts. I've been spending more time away from the Main Forum due to all the gossip. Seems like there are fewer and fewer good threads in it.

You are right. I think we all miss DCP. It just hasn't been the same without him.:D

Maybe a few good cuetec is the greatest threads would put us back on track.
 
Though I never met either of them, I miss the sparring between WillBetMore and Breakup.

I have mentioned this before....but I don't think anyone cared....(or probably skipped over...or has me on ignore...or whatever)

I don't care about the ingnore poster feature.....I don't want to miss when a poster makes a fool of himself/herself...


I would like to see an ignore thread feature. That way I only see the threads I don't have on my ignore list.

Would cut down on a bunch of the useless threads that I have to skip over.

Me too....more than you know. Both breakup and I (and I'm sure many others) used the forum for "comic relief" as much as anything else - we both enjoyed the heckling/sparring/joking part of pool, and thought the forum should be the same as our poolhalls.

To address Roy's concerns, I really think that the forum is about the same as ever; the names change, but the ebb and flow of interest remains the same. One thing you can be sure of, though, is that this is definitely the number one pool forum. I have always been amazed by the quality of players who participate here, and the wealth of knowledge available if you just ask the proper way.

P.S. - always looking for a new opponent for a feud.....perhaps that dog JoeyA will step up to the plate....I think he called me "old" in a different thread.....errrr wait, he was a Marine......please disregard this post.
 
They should bring back Fast Larry, Shorty, Teacherman, Walt Frasier, the WOIM, DCP and jimbo and all of the people he took with him. We'd have something to discuss then.

DOG? Moi?

If I am a dog I am a pure-bred dog of proud Croatian heritage. (no need for the Marines) Now just go and insult those guys. Even their Serbian neighbors will be hunting you down. :D

JoeyA (Although, some say I did dog it against SVB) On reflection, I didn't get a lump in my throat and I wasn't shaking like a leaf on a tree so I just missed. :)

I'm with you Roy, it's changed. I play pool for enjoyment, and frankly do NOT care one bit about re-living the gambling antics of others. When there are reasonable pool threads I read them. These days there are damned few that I read.

Though no one is worthy of filling the void that breakups passing has left us, JoeyA I believe is more than worthy of being a new adversary for you Willie. After the beatings that Breakup put you though, Willie, you'll have no problem with a Marine! You have no reason to be afraid of JoeyA... Don Imus, John Wayne Bobbit, & Drew Carey were all Marines! He runs with a tough crowd, huh? :D

roy all due respect it was getting repetitive before, its been fun lately, but i am getting sick of the fatboy stuff too, can i be more fair than that

You can only be a new sheriff, with me, when I see a reputable list of people you've knocked off. Money thrown around is just like working at my job. I see millionaires constantly, but it doesn't help or affect me personally in the least. Unless they spend a boatload, then it does help a little.
