AZBilliards Characters You pick the Stars

Since we are such a big family and have many personalities, I thought it would be fun to see who you all think would make up the cast of characters for a fictional reality show.

Example: Who would you pair up in a ring game together? Who would make the most memorable match? Who would win and why? What would the stakes be?

Ok, let's hear it!

My choices for an AzBilliards Ring Game:

SJM - Interested in seeing how he plays. He posts with wisdom, which can only be attained by someone who's got game.

OldHasBeen - I think he'd bring a sense of levity and add a little spice to the colloquy.

Hemicudas - I always have a soft place in my heart for the South. He represents the true spirit of Dixie, genuinely nice and a whole lot of fun. AND I'm a sucker for a Southern accent.

LandShark - She'll be the breath of fresh air every time she steps up to the table. I like her enthusiasm, as exemplified in the upbeat tempo of her posts.

VAPoolPlayer - He's been working really hard on his game for the past year, and I think if given the chance, he might be the dark horse of the whole AzBilliards ring game!

SmorgassBored - Never seeing him play, I'd get a kick out of seeing him in the pit with the rest of the gang. He's always a ray of sunshine in the threads.

AzHousePro - It's always nice to have a cameo appearance by a celebrity, and who better than the AzHousePro himself.

I'll make your list someday.... :(

what ever happened to the willebetmore vs. oldhasbeen???

i'd say they should play a marathon of 9 ball, 1 pocket, 14:1, and 8 ball.........for say......i dunno about 5 dimes apiece :D

Thank You, But..........

Thank You’ all for your support BUT remember My Name has been earned.
In addition, I will no longer participate in any ring games.
Since the SKINS GAME concept has been developed, I see it as completely replacing the Ring Game. IT IS SO MUCH MORE FUN AND the player who is playing up to his/her capabilities usually wins. Also the concept of the pot growing as the game goes on adds an extra element to the hustle.

All it takes for a great SKINS GAME is 4 players of pretty close talent to all put up say - $20. They draw pills or lag to see who the first two are that play each other. Winner stays and the next player in order puts in $5 and plays. Again, winner stays and the next player comes in and adds $5 to the pot. After all players have added $5 to the pot, the next player adds $10. The next round adds $15 and the next $20. It stays at $20 for any and all future rounds - BUT - Any time a player wins 3 games in a row (there-by defeating all other players) - He/she wins the SKIN and all $ in the pot. Another SKIN can be started.

TRY IT - YOU'LL LOVE IT.

Much BETTER and much more FUN than a Ring Game!

I absolutely love that Avotar pic of yours! Cute little doggie! :p

Throw 1pRoscoe in the AzBilliards Ring Game. Anybody who loves animals has a warm heart (IMO). The more the merrier, I say! :)

That is the "bestest" dog in the whole wide world!! His name is Cam. I have much better pics, but unfortunately they are at the house.

I'd be in for a ring game!! :D

Thanx JAM! :D My ego is soarin' now! I have my v-cash vapoolplayer, so I could back you to some degree...BUT then I would be rooting against myself...I dunno know if that would be right or not. I'd back you though as I have never played in a ring game...we're not countin' 3 ball right?...so your odds may be better than mine, LOL. But please don't think I am giving up my slot...I was nominated, therefore I am in!!!

Since I already know the first ring game will be a hit, here's my choices for AzBilliards Ring Game No. 2:

Black-Balled - One of Virginia's best-kept secrets.

Jimmy M. - He's a working man by day, but on a field of green, he has recently shown that he can keep up with the best of 'em.

Melissa Herndon - I know she's a pro, but I've never seen her play in person. I have a feeling she'd enjoy this format. Wouldn't mind catching her act and seeing her kick some butt!

Cardiac Kid - He's a rambling man and traveled the four corners of the world. He'll be giving 'em hell and may be the dark horse of this grouping.

Jude Rosenstock - All those guys from Amsterdam pool room are top shelf!

Joe T. - He's a fierce competitor, and if nothing else, everyone will be assured of a "fair" rack!

Rude Dog - His break alone may take him to the finish line first!

Ok, let's hear it!

I'll vote for a drivermaker vs landshark77, 'cause I'm Canadian and like rough sports like hockey :)

Rude Dog will probably try to get me to do business here, but I don't operate like that, so don't bother asking! :D

As evidence of my keen ability to slack while at work, I read some of your blog. I don't know why I feel the urge, but I think I'll start my own. Then again, I'm much too lazy to maintain it, so who knows. Maybe I won't.

Yeah, I've about given up on it...it takes up too much valuable time form these message boards. :( Haven't made a post since last year, LOL! I am the definition of lazy.

JAM, I'm genuinely touched. In view of the fact that we both attend so many pro tourneys, I really wonder whether we haven't met at some point. At bare minimum this year, I'll be at the BCA Open, WPBA Peoria, the Big Apple Nine Ball Challenge and the World Summit of Pool, so if you're gong to any of those, 2005 should be the year in which we meet.

By the way, two other guys I'd love to see in a ring game are Deadaim and BillyBob. Let's put them in the straight pool skins game with Williebetmore, TheOne and Rod. All I ask for a good seat to watch.
