Back stroke pause?Calling Blckjck and Bob Jewitt.

BJ, IM sorry about UR illness.

Im sure that becuz of it, U cant play as well anymore. If that iz the case, why do U come on here now N then N say that U ran 100 balls today, then another day U ran 100 again. U KNOW THIS ISNT TRUE. Would U bet on U running 100 balls? We can bet on it, U pick the pool room, we will start when the room opens N go til it closes. Prove it, BJ. ;)

David,
This guy isn't worth your time to even respond to. Most of us appreciate your accomplishments as well as all you give to the game.

Scott...if you run short, I'll cover the balance.

Jim...You didn't READ carefully. Look at the phrase you bolded again, and read the rest of the sentence. I'm talking about the pause in the SET position, not the pause at the end of the backswing (ala Buddy/Allison). Almost every top player in the world stops their cue, at the CB, before the final backswing and forward stroke.

Sorry. My bad.

Why are you coming on this forum and attacking one of best posters? You may want to go back and read the forum's rules in one of the Sticky Notes.

"pause" agreement

Total agreement with everything here, Dave! :D
I'm glad. I usually agree with pretty much everything you write. We have had some "small" disagreements over some things in the past on the BD CCB forum; but if everybody agreed on everything, the world would be a very boring place.

We might not always agree on the definition of the word "pause," but I think our intent is the same: Don't rush or jerk the transition from the final back swing to the final forward swing. A "distinct" or "deliberate" or "extended" "pause" can help some people do this, but many people can do fine with a continuous transition (with no "distinct" or "deliberate" or "extended" "pause").

Dave
