Background /verification on this cue

Yea, this pin seems to be a piloted 5/16x8
The story I got was the usual. that we have all heard. that it was a modified runde. 1of1.
but through research I know that to be untrue. is there a chance that the modification was done by runde?
I do know that the original owner lived near him. but I am waiting on a response from him on fb. which may never happen.
thee was a silver ring in the joint where the extension is. it is no longer in place. if It was there you would have no clue that it was even in there.
except to wonder why its a bit heavy lol but it is one of the best shooting cues I have ever had the pleasure of playing with .
It has 2 shafts. a schin-13 and an alleged 4oz Runde shaft.

Pretty safe bet the joint was installed by Evan and the Schon 13 shaft was made by Evan also. The blank in theory could of been made by Bob prior to him retiring from Schon. Does the second shaft say Schon on it anywhere?

and not to imply that this cue is worth a lot of money. But does this modification devalue the cue itself?
I will say that is was done very well. there is zero vibration and it is rock solid when extended.
but im unsure how that affects the overall value of the cue itself. and is that partially determined by who did the work?

One other thing to note. the bottom of the butt is larger in diameter than I am use to seeing.
not by a lot but it gets stuck in the bottom of my case and takes effort to pull it free.
one of the reasons previous owner believed it to be a zamboti blank. but again just some additional info.

The modifications may not affect the value, but it's insignificant either way.
I wouldn't buy it because of the modification, but someone local may like it more.
The extension could be a plus for the right buyer, and since you say the pin is 3/8-8,
then standard shafts for radial pin cues should fit.

The cue has no collector value and never did. To give you an analogy, it's not a '57 T-Bird. It's a '77 T-Bird :wink:

It does have value is as a solid player with a nice extension built in, which many serious players would like if the cue plays well.

As far as Szamboti blank - oh my gosh, this is so far from one Mr. Magoo himself could tell you it wasn't one... from 100 yards!

I should of said this. Tate, you are 100%, most likely a great player, no collector value. I didn't realize the op was looking for value.
 
Not so much that I was looking for value. but more on the side of Does it ruin the cue itself. I personally think its one of the best hitting/Playing cues I have ever touched.. Now I haven't played with near as many customs as im sure many of you have. but all I can offer is from my experience. It hits like a schon and then some... the "Then Some" part might be the 4 oz of hardware in the bottom of it lmao
