Bad news in Denver.

They posted a sign on the door, but it looked like most of the people got the message. There was pretty much just the regulars and a normal Friday night crowd. And in my opinion, that place will only be open another month or two.

Yep, the word from people I talk to in the area that seem to always be in the 'know' is that the place is in real trouble. Which is a shame because they started out so well with new changes, the big draw tournaments and such. They really made an honest run to make it into a 'players' place, which is what I had hoped for.........................but unfortunately that might have been their mistake.
Sure hoping they hang on though. Only place in town with tournaments on the big tables.

I would suggest Match-Ups in Fort Collin next time, if you try anything else in the Colorado area. The pool hall's owner, Mike Hellmer, is a great guy and Shane VB usually stays with him when Shane is using Denver as a hub to fly around. I don't think Mike would have backed out on you and I'm sure plenty of people from Denver would make the hour trip up to Fort Collins.

Sound like the cause of the problem. CASH FLOW, and could be gone SOON.

i spoke to JA for 45 minutes last night he didnt mention it to me, i missed his call today-i was getting drilled playing 3C.:confused: i think he leaves tomarro for london,

I know how this is gonna sound but I got to say it. I hate the fact that Billiards ink is going to get a bunch of people in that pool room tonight and that they are gonna make money on the back of an event that they have cancelled and left 3 people in a position where they have lost money and time making that event happen.
Theres a good marketing idea, lets book top talent pro players and let them do all the marketing for the event and announce it with flyers to leagues etc and then camcel it at the last min. That way it will be hard to let people know its cancelled in time and we will have a full pool room that night and not have to pay. NO don't worry that people have made arrangements and spent money to help make sure it happened.

I know I sound bitter but none of us are rich and for me personally this event was my kids christmas presents money. Now I am FU*%ed. But hey Billiards in are gonna be ok.

Mark I agree with you completely and any decent Room Owner would still help pay some of the bills and expenses incurred by you guy's. Maybe they did do exactly what you have outlined above, since I have owned my Room I have seen some dirty shit go on.

But Mark, I am really sorry to hear that you guy's got screwed, it may be a good idea take advance payments that will not be refunded in the event of situations like this. So at least you will not be out for everything you have done in preparation.

I hope things look up Mark.

Sincerely

Craig W. Rittel
