Balabushka and Palmer auctions on ebay

There is a Balabushka up for auction on ebay,$8500 I think, been there for a couple of weeks. Anyone care to comment on this cue? I was curious why it has not sold or if anyone knows the history of this particular cue.
There is a fancy Palmer on ebay that the seller lists as a 3 pointer. Did the seller make a mistake in the listing or is this really a 3 pointer? Thanks in advance for your comments.

I couldn't find the 3 pointer - can you post the auction number?

Not much history of any kind for the item, or the seller.

3 PT. auction

Chris, here is the auction number for the fancy 3 pointer.270096989496.I have excellent spatial perception but I can't determine if the description is correct. The more I look the more I think it is a 3 pointer, the fanciest I've seen.

I wondered if anyone here might have seen the cue before,it does look like a cue from the same era as Balabushka. Something about the auction made me pause, but I dont know if it is a scam.

Well, ain't that spatial...

I never received a rating on my own spatial perception, but I can almost see the tips of the two points on either side of the cue. So, if that's a three point cue, there's a huge gap on the other side.

Hangem... are you really serious?

Lots of Ebay cue scams are reported here, and the Balabushka fits the pattern perfectly. New ebay seller, no feedback, extremely desirable collector's cue for sale. The photos are easily lifted from various sources on the net, which might explain why it appears to be an "era" cue.

Ken <---feels like he is getting 'trolled' here... still trying to be polite:)

Here's the auction:

The seller is very legit - he's Howard the Dick - a friend of mine. I told him his description was totally WRONG on the cue but he didn't want to change the ad because his computer is so slow. It's a 3rd catalog Model 14 Palmer with 4 ebony points from the mid 1970's. Actually, I know who owns this cue and I've seen it - it's a beautiful cue.

By the way, the only Palmer I've ever seen that had 3 points wasn't a Palmer at all in my opinion, but a Viking.

On the Balabushka, although it probably is a scam, I think an ad like this is worth looking into, contacting the seller to evaluate if it's legit. I've had a number of great deals on cues with ads that looked just like this. They scared away the other usual buyers so the prices can be very low. If a seller is legit, just not knowledgeable, it will come through in their communications.

I emailed the guy on the Balabushka asking for more pictures and never received a response. Either it is a scam or he doesn't respond to potential bidders, either way I wouldn't bid on the cue.
