Balabushka / Burton Spain

Quick question to you Balabushka experts, would the cue below be representative of his work using Burton Spain blanks or otherwise? For the avoidance of doubt I know this is reproduction cue.

Thank you.

The worst part of those cues is that ridiculous giant signature. I'd like to just see a very nice small engraving in the butt cap something like Balabushka tribute cue.
Yes that would be better considering George never signed his cues.
I have heard that they are pretty good cues.
I know they moved production from Japan to China and kept the price the same.

Adam made some serious ebony to maple full-splice cues.
Way to expensive to manufacture now .
And they were a little prone to warping .

I think that the signature ruins the entire look of the cue. Those cues should never have been signed like that IMO. Especially way at the top of the forearm - a very small engraving on the butt cap would have been just enough to identify the cue, perhaps just a GB, with a production number added under the bumper.

These actually play really nice. Price might be a tad high but if you like the old-school firm steel-joint cues you'll like these. I got to hit one of these and a made-in-Japan ADAM and to be honest there isn't much difference in the hit.

I hope you got your answer! Lol!

I don’t think the points are trying to be representative of Spain. The color scheme suggest a Titliest inspiration. But that’s it. Color inspiration.

I think these are great cues. My 2003 GB-9 is one of my favorite hitting cues.

Here is one Spain color pattern. I think they are going for a Spain blank look. If your two center colors were reversed it would match my Spain blank spot on.

The Hall of Fame models made by Adam do not have the signatures and look much better without them.

I have one from the Adam Japan factory.

Second cue down.

While you certainly have a point when considering the appearance of the cue that great large signature makes it very hard to mistake one of these for an original. A very small engraving can disappear and so can hidden production numbers. I like that people can see at a glance that these cues are fake.
