Hey Ray; how do you compare this stuff to Predator, Kamui & Masters?

Hi,
I would say it is very similar to Predator or Blue Diamond. Coats and lasts on the tips way better than Masters.. Not fair to compare it to Kamui, it's a different ballpark.. But so is the price of each..

I also have this in the 'Blonde' color...

Please specify if you would like the Blonde, otherwise I will send the regular Blue..

I use Blue Diamond chalk, have for a long time. IMO it's the best -- I would not consider ever using Master because as far as I'm concerned it's junk -- pure garbage.

I have not and never will use Kamui because I think it's a complete rip off .. I can't believe they are serious. This kind of thing brings the credibility of their tips into question as well, at least in my mind.

Try Blue Diamond one time and you will know what I am talking about.

Anyways, I prefer to use gold or blonde chalk simply because it keeps my shafts looking newer.

So about 3 weeks ago I bought some of this Balabushka Blonde Chalk, just to check it out.

I cannot tell the difference between this and Blue Diamond -- Seems like the exact same chalk, far as I can tell from this end of the cue.

So my question to you, knowledgeable dealer sir, is as follows...

Does Longori manufacture both Blue Diamond and Balabushka chalk under private label? Is this the same chalk with a different wrapper?

I normally try to go out of my way to not bump my own thread before the 48hr period, but I think I need to reply to the question..

They are NOT the same chalk, not the same formula, and as far as I understand not even made on the same continent (let alone the same factory).. Blue Diamond is the Longoni formula, but made in the USA (by Tweeten I believe)... Balabushka is owned by Adams Cues, and made in Asia ( I think China or Taiwan, but I'm not 100% sure. ..)...

I sell both Blue Diamond and Balabushka, and the profit margin is about about same for me, so I don't have a dog in the fight here (I would always give my honest opinion anyways, but just mentioning it..)..

Check out the following pictures here. I gave each finger a single wipe with each of of the two chalks. As you can easily see, they do not even remotely coat the same. The Balabushka chalk coats much better, which makes sense since it is advertised to stay on your tip longer, and made to not chalk every shot. I know Blue Diamond isn't made for that purpose..

Chalk color

Hi Rain-Man

I just sent you a PM.. I used your paypal link but didn't see option to pick color.

I want all three boxes in blonde.

Thank you

Dave

this stuff any good?

Hi,
The short answer is yes.. Chalk is usually a personal preference, and opinions will be all over the board.. Having said that, my personal opinion is that the Balabushka is better than Masters, period. It is slightly better than Blue Diamond in the sense that it coats better and lasts longer on the tip. I personally think it's on par with Predator chalk..

I tried some Balabuska chalk. And since you brought up the fact that it covers better heres my take on it. Yes it does cover better because it's softer. after using it my chalking hand was filthy blue. I used it once and left it on the table for someone else to use.
I use nothing but triangle chalk. It does the job and my hand stays clean.
Maybe it's the way i chalk my tip but that's the way it goes for me.
It is a fine product and does a good job of staying on the tip but it's too messy for me.

I've never seen blue chalk that doesn't make a Players hand blue to some degree, but it's more times than not from how clean the table is, or more specifically, how dirty the cloth is..
If your chalking hand is getting filthy from chalking, try chalking the tip instead of your hand:killingme:

53 years of playing and I never thought of that.:frown:

This has become my chalk .. great adhesion and hits very smoothly .. very gentle on the tip, not as abrasive as the Blue Diamond I've become accustom to. This really works for me.
