Ball never touches bottom of pocket

This is ridiculous.

It reminds me of when I worked for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center. We developed a partitioned air-interface that looked like a bed of spikes, and the idea was to attach an ADC to each channel and drop mantissa bits to act as a kind of digital gain control. It was capable of an SFDR of X and was of interest to X, of which I believe I TS-SCI release form that I would not disclose either for 75 years, among other things.

Anyway, very smart people involved. During a presentation, some started arguing that this couldn't work because ALL antennas have to be resonant, and we didn't demonstrate operation in a resonant bandwidth. Even though clearly the device worked, and probably had a type of distributed resonance over the bandwidth of interest, they argued for half of the meeting over the definition of an antenna.

Or when I say that the only thing that matters to a cue ball is the impact vector, and that stroke doesn't matter. Stroke just modifies the parameters of the impact vector. And many people argue that there are many different strokes in billiards that produce different cue ball effects, so I must be wrong. Its kind of like trying to paint a paintbrush with the same paintbrush.

I would suggest against arguing with a subject matter expert and instead ask questions that help your own understanding, like Socrates instead of a Pharisee.

But on the other hand, who knows. Maybe I am being sponsored by the very same government I claim to no longer work for, to keep the “wool of control” pulled over Americans’ eyes and ensure economic and military powe….

I think the analysis has nothing to do with a gyroscope. A uniform ball does not have an apparent axis, so there is no gyroscopic phenomenon. The axis changes when torque is applied to any place on the surface.

Some people try to invoke gyroscopes when talking about pool balls, but they don't apply there, either.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be dumb?

It ain't easy.

I been sandbagging this thread for awhile now and every time I do, I just smile and SMH,..... tnx for the amusement.
First: I am NOT making any technical statement here as to rationality of WHY the ball never hit the bottom of the pocket.
If you want answer to that, I suggest you consult Venom or the state lottery. 😄
From what some ppl have posted here,..... all I can say is total BS!
What some say here is PROOF they never studied in physical science; rather they just stripped some info they THOUGHT would apply from some website,or article and posted as their own thought.
To even begin how Kinetics would even remotely apply to a spinning billiard ball with velocity and vector with all of its inter-relation would require a 110 min lecture. That's just NOT happening!
Let's just chalk it up to "Rare," and "Magic." 🤪

Do you feel better after your nap?

Frictional force between ball and pocket wall mist be greater than gravitational force.

This is why the wall of pockets shouldnt be rounded, it makes the pocket bigger. Ask Pyramid players about the challenges when pockets are marginally bigger than the ball.

First let's back up to earlier today when you asked if my boyfriend broke up with me, before deleting your post. No, I'm happily married and not a member of your target group. I just don't think bigotry and hatred of any kind belong on the forum. Simple as that.
First of all I didn’t delete it, it was removed by admin
To get so triggered over such a small comment how did you ever make it in a pool room
