How do you know what you are getting when you order a set of balls since the sets have no model numbers? One vendor has Brunswick Centennials for $369.00, another has what appears to be the same set for $234.00. Are they the same balls? Some vendors don't seem to carry Centennials. I bought my son a set of Centennials about a year ago but I don't remember what I paid or where I bought them. If I understand correctly they all come out of the Aramith factory.

Yes, Centennials are made by the same company that makes Aramith balls but due to design differences and the required differences in the manufacturing process, they actually are different balls and cost more.

There is an endless debate about the balls behaving differently...even sounding different but all that is just personal preference IMHO.

At the end of the day, I don't see the reason to pay much more for a set of Centennials vs. the equally good Aramith Super Pro balls so that is what I own now.

You can always ask a retailer if they will match a price too...let them know where you see a lower price and what that lower price is. Can't hurt to ask!
 
I just ordered a set my wholesale price delivered today actualy was $182.00 6 months ago i was getting them for $160 shipped.

I'm not concerned with getting the absolute low buck. I'm just curious as to the comparative quality. Is a Centennial ball a Centennial ball regardless of where it comes from? Same for the Aramith Super or any other ball.

A Centennial is a Centennial as long as it was manufactured by Saluc (Aramith) in their factory in Belgium. There are counterfeit Centennials out there, made in China. Same thing goes for all other Aramith sets.

The best way to protect yourself and make sure you are getting the genuine article is to purchase them from a reputable dealer.

When I bought my last set of Cents from Billiard Warehouse Greg told me that he only sells the best quality that is made for billiard rooms. He said that some sell cheaper sets but they are not commerical quality. I trust Greg and don't think that he would lie.
 
Balls

If you ever play with the Aramith standard set, then shoot with the cents, you'll notice no difference except for the color. There is no adjustment that has to be made from set to set. As long as your table and balls are clean, there isn't any difference in how one set will play compared to another. You can find the standard balls on eBay for like $40. Cue balls can come in different sizes, but other than that Aramith balls all play the same. I think you guys should spend less money on your balls and cues and cases and learn to stroke the ball better. Take lessons with a pro...spend your money wisely and improve your game. No one is more impressed with your balls than yourselves.
