Ball Question again

In my experience, no. I've personally seen Centennials outlast anything else in terms of daily play in a commercial setting.

people will steal the centenials one ball at a time and replace them with cheap balls from there home....id never put centenials out in my pool hall( if i had one). they will disapear faster than you put them out.

It's really crappy when you can't put out quality products for your patrons to use because of a few idiots.

Now that's just plain sad... How do they turn the rack back in if they are taking balls from it? Do they not check the racks?

like i said they will replace the centennials with cheap balls one at a time(steal one at a time while putting a non centenial ball in its place)....depending on the worker they arent gonna notice the difference in the balls ever or untill its to late....or when they do...they dont have any proof....unless its on camera

I can relate to all of this. Except the two extra cue balls? The set comes with one so why the need for two more? (the measle ball and another to brake with)

I weighed the balls that came with my sets. All of the super pros and Cents weighed 168 grams. The cue ball with the super pros was not the same weight.

Blue dot 163
Arimith Logo blue 164
Measle ball 168
Cent Blue dot 168

I like using the Measle ball because it shows the rotation. I use a cheaper break ball as stated because of all the abuse it gets. You will start to see crescents and scuff marks. I also believe that over time the ball will start to get flat spots and deformed. I also wipe both ball off after each game. Just my way of keeping my equipment in good condition. As I said I paid for it and I want to keep it in the best condition as possible. I don't believe in throwing away my money. I believe in buying the best and keeping it that way. Cheaper in the long run.

I would have gotten a red circle to shoot with. I may look into the Measle ball. It looks funny but I guess it just takes getting used to. Nothing else it would be a good ball for training my son. I don't need to see it spin. I alredy know how it's spinning

I have a measles ball that I use when I practice but bring in the Centennial blue dot when my buddy comes over for straight pool. I also can tell which way the ball is spinning without the measles. I think it is more of a TV or tournament ball so you can more plainly see the spin on the monitor or from the rail.

Correct I think they made tha cue ball for TV so us here at home can see the spin. I am glad they changed the 4 and 12 I had a hard time telling the 4 from the 2 when they used the standard colors.

Yeah, they changed the 4 and 12 to pink for the TV set and also changed the 7 to a different shade of brown so you could tell it from the 8 on TV. No change to any colors in the standard set. If you want the pink 4 ball you need to order the TV set.

Nah I can do without the pink 4 ball. lol I can tell them apart in person but it was hard when watching TV.

I wonder if they will ever change and have all the sets made with the TV colors..

I bought the Super Pros TV set a few years ago. It came with the measle ball, a Rempe training ball, and a bottle of cleaner. I dont know if they still offer these but I have been very happy with them. A lot of tournaments are using the measle ball now so you should get used to playing with one. I figured it was a better buy getting it with the set compared to what they sell for by themselves.

You can always pick up a red circle or blue dot cheaper than you can the measle. Course I dont mind the colors of the TV set, something tells me the OP may not like them :)

Well considering I am going to get the Brunswick Balls I will have to buy the measle cue ball on it's own. I found some for $20 just ran across them so I may find one for less if I really look around.

Hey Guys, how's the rock rollin? :)

I just bought a new set of centennials and tbh, I too prefer these over the SAP's because the design of the ball is much better and also with having been used in the movie, "The Hustler" and being used by countless legendary players over the years, they are a style that has really stood the test of time :)

Now, I live in the UK and the prices for things here are totally ****ing insane, but here's something that baffles me.

On a popular pool player's site shop, a set of centennials has a £198 GBP, ($328.90 USD) and yet, I was able to find another website in the UK where a set of Brunswicks were being sold at only £110 GBP + £8 next day shipping ($182.72 USD + $13.28).

I would like to think that Saluc will eventually start using the Duramith resin on the SAP's and the Brunswick Centennials as well :)

you got that right buddy, but at least the good thing is, the recession is starting to fade out and so, hopefully things will start to become less expensive again

No matter what rack of balls you're aimin' to invest your hard earned bankroll on, definitely take the time to shop around for the lowest price overall after shipping, but you guys already know this anyway

Unfortunately I ain't got the bankroll or space for a table at home, otherwise I'd already have my own table and would be shooting alot of straight pool with the centennials right now :D

1 thing I would like to recommend though for you guys that haven't thought about it already, check out the video that ForceFollow posted on youtube for the homemade billiard ball polishing machine and definitely consider in investing the bankroll and time to make one for your own equipment because it's a wise idea for keeping a ball set in good condition to help save on the wear and tear of cloth, but also it'll be sure to save you $100's from buying an expensive machine that pretty much does the same thing :)

Here's the link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O5A6ON_bJU

I hope this will prove useful for you guys and for any of you guys that check out the link and like the idea, be sure to give ForceFollow some well deserved rep points for posting the video as I'm sure that ALOT of players who have their own table, and also pool rooms could really benifit from it buy saving alot of bucks
