Balls made off break (9 ball)

A couple of weeks ago I broke and made 7 balls (included the damn cue ball) on a Gold Crown that typically gives up nothing on the break. It was pretty freaky seeing only 3 balls on the table.

Usually out of 4 or 5 breaks I might make a ball.

The most I've made off a 9-ball rack was 6 (including the 9) on GCIII.
I made 8 off an 8-ball rack on a Valley bar box. I couldn't get out of that rack.

I don't know or care which cue I was using.

I'm not sure of the most balls I've made on the break maybe 5 or 6 playing 9 ball and 6 or 7 playing eight ball.....I remember one time I mis-hit the break on a barbox and jumped it off the table an onto the table in front of where I was playing and the cue ball made a ball on that table.....

These are always funny threads. You get all kinds of guys that nobody has ever heard of out performing the best in the world. The best breaks in the world can't compete with these guys.

Also, I'm not sure how anybody could forget their 6 or 7 ball break.

I once made 7 balls on a 4x8 GC IV at Chattanooga billiard club, playing a guy named Dave, using a 19oz players sneaky pete I use as a break cue.

Technically, I made 8 balls, as I also scratched.

I don't really remember stuff like this unless I finish the out, and unfortunately most times when I make an awesome break I throw the cue ball off the table:frown:

Most I've ever gotten was 4. I ran out.

I've seen 5 many times, including once when my opponent hit me with 5 twice in a row. He ran out one of them, and made the 9 on the break in the other.

Never seen a 6 in person.

Isn't there a video somewhere of Alex Pagulayan making either 6 or 7, with an easy shot on the low ball and a very easy out, and dogging the shot after the break?

you guys remember on Bedazzled with Elizabeth Hurley playing the devil, she broke the 8 ball rack, all the balls went in and the cue was left straight in on the 8.....all of us thought the same thing "WISH I COULD DO THAT"

I knew a magician once that after I broke the nine ball rack and the nine stayed on the spot, and he says WOW you snapped the 9 in. I told him its sitting right there what are you talking about??? He puts his hands over it waved them and bang it was gone it disappead!!!!!!!!!!! I said dude you gotta go on the road with me, we'll be millionairs LMAO. His name was Bucky Brown, if your out there buddy i miss ya and those amazing magic tricks you used to show me.

Made 6 once... and I suck at breaking hard.

Friend playing on the table beside me in Vegas (7-foot Diamond) made 7 in one of those mini-tournaments.... one of them was the 9 ball

Blackjack's (David Sapolis) book hits this topic right on the head. All you have to do is make one ball and keep control of the cue ball to win. You can make 5 balls on the break, not control the cue ball and lose because you hooked yourself.

Made 6 in 9b years ago and was hooked. Recently 5 with the 1 hanging in the side easy 5 by the corner and 7 9 lined up in the corner. 8ball 7 on break with no shot. All but 1 ball was inside the kitchen and cb frozen on a ball. Lost that game

I've made five on the break, in nine-ball. The most unusual break, I had, was making four balls in the same side-pocket, playing the same game.

I've made 4 not counting the CB once. I've mad 4 including the CB a few times.

As best I can remember they were all with my hillbilly Predator knock off which is an old 18 oz Viper with a stiff shaft, shortened ferrule, and White Diamond.

I made 6 on the break, ran out the last three, and did it during a set gambling with someone. Needless to say I won that set.

Drew! No you didn't just make this comment... You my friend are the last person on the planet that should make this comment. I'll always remember you for saying this...

P.S. I break hard. Really hard. 40 mph is about 80%. Any harder than that and I risk injuring people on the other side of the room.

And in searching for this thread I came across this as well...

I break with my playing cue. On average I'll drop only 1 or 2 on a 9' 9-ball break but I made 5 once. On a barbox, I'll make 3 and I made 6 once. 8-ball on a barbox, I usually make 3-5 and I can't remember my last dry break.

So Drew, you are in fact the KING of overembellishing their breaking strength. 50mph! You da man!

Since I didin't say much on my personal break, well here it is, my high was I made 10-balls in 9 ball, yes, all balls plus the cb.... :D jk

I mainly shoot 8-ball, most I have ever sank on 8-ball was 5 balls, averaging about 1-3 balls on break.

As far as 9-ball, I am completely terrible at it, most ever sank was only 3 and average of me sinking anything on break is 0-1 lol

yes, pretty pathetic lol
