Balls popping out of the pocket

My local senior center has Olhausen's with broken down leather pockets with pocket irons. The pockets droop badly. Maybe an inch or so. Someone has tried to scotch tape them back into position, unsuccessfully.

Crisply hit draw shots fly off the table. It really only happens to me. Nobody else can draw the ball.

Now, I don't either. Helping me concentrate on playing rolling shape.;)

The only tables that I see it happen on consistently are Golden West, which are about the only leather pocket tables that I play on.
The old Shakespeare's in Denver had 9 ft. Golden West tables and it was so common, especially the side pockets, that they changed the rules for the Wednesday night in-house league.
If the ball popped out and didn't touch any other balls, it counted.
Coincidently, tonight my in-house APA league plays on 7 ft. Golden West tables, and you really have to watch it there, and I've seen the ball spin it's way out on a relatively simple corner pocket shot.
Freaks me out when it happens.
Shakespeare's was never able to correct it, but I doubt they tried replacing the leather.

Rarely have I seen it happen on a Valley table, but I can see it with the side pockets.

Haha I have a golden west and earlier this week this happened to me for the first time, side pocket like u said, not even a hard hit, rolled around and came back out, then it happened again later that night, same pocket. Then tonight, hard bank on the 8 ball into that same pocket, ba'll never even dropped, hugged the top rim all the way around and came back out... Had the table a year and it's just started happening, think I'll take a look at that pocket!

If you happen to be playing on a table you know this may happen on, put a ball or two in the pocket before you shoot your shot. When you shoot with some speed this will help prevent them from spinning out.

Good advice. I always do that. Better safe than sorry. I've seen that happen a few times where the ball loops around the bottom of the pocket and climbs out.

Our club has 9' olhausens, a buddy had a ball comeback out of a side pocket once.

Damndest thing. None of us watching had ever seen anything like it, in a side pocket, before.
