Yesterday On my way to St. Louis, I spoke to a gentleman on the phone who has 350 antique bar cues aged to be approx 30-40 years old. He said that I could buy them for $5.00 a peice provding I buy them all. Is this an ok deal? Im thinking I could reshape them and make good shafts from them, or sneaky petes, or what ever??

If its a good deal for you...then its a good deal. Do you really need consultation on bar cue purchases?

I think that is a little high for beat up bar cues from the 60's and 70's. I would not pay more than $2 per cue, max.

Most of them will be pretty bad anyway and I mean worthless.

By the way, Bar cues from this time period are not considered Antiques by anyone.

I believe that that cue was made overseas however. It's my understanding that Brunswick made their last cue in 1963 and then had the Titlest cues farmed out overseas for about ten more years. As far as collectors go, they are far less desirable than the genuine Brunswick built Titlest.

Hey Dick, this cue was made for Brunswick by Smelke here in the USA. After Smelke stopped making their cues all other were made over sea's.
Models like this were the last of American made Brunswicks until much later, Late 1980's throughout the 1990's when Joss, McDermott, and many others made cues with their Logo.

By the way, the cue pictured was the top of the line model in it's day.

Thanks Dick
