Bar Owners

Respectfully, there is a wanted/for sale forum and even a room owners forum for this....you may do more harm than good advertising where it is not warranted....my two cents....

Well I was hoping to open up a forum to learn about what Bar owners ideally want. Researching our potential customer's desires in a functional advertising system is very important to us.

I know most of them get the plastic signs sent to them where they can hang a beer logo over the table, but do they pay the bar owner for having the sign over the table? It is valuable advertising space which is why they make the signs in the first place. Basically bar owners are giving it away for free for a free light. What would you put over your table if you had a choice? Would you advertise your bar's specials or an event? Would you sell the space to local businesses such as baseball fields do? Would a local billiards store want their advertisement over a public pool table with their phone number on it?

I think the beer companies take care of the billiard lighting in most places.

I've seen those lights. Really nice with the logo of some type of bottled beer being advertised on the side.

The single 40 watt flouresent tube really highlights the name of the beer on the light fixture but you can't see the balls.

Do you think local businesses in the Billiards retail arena would pay to advertise in these billiard/bars?

I am a bar owner in michigan and I think it is a good idea. In this state we have liquor laws that prohibit beer and liquor companies from advertising on pool table lights. It is called dual purpose advertising. You can not have a light and beer or liquor advertising at the same time. you can have a light, or advertising, but not both at the same time. I think it is really stupid law but I have to work within the law. I would like to see a picture of a light that I could change the advertising in. I could possibly sell advertising to local businesses and make some money at it. You are right about the beer companies, why should I buy their light and then advertise for free anyway, just because it says bud or miller or something? Think of all the free advertising they get when they give me all those mirrors for free to hang on the walls of the bar.

Take a look at this raffle. It is the quickest way to showcase our product. It is set up like a regular lightbox for advertising with the acrlic panels to sandwich your ad. On a different note, we are looking for some people who could send us pictures back with their custom advertisements that they have sold locally. It would be a way to put some class back into the pool tables, removing the plastic junk and increase revenue so that our pool halls do not go out of business. Give me a private message.
