Tonight (Sunday) 3/10 on the show Bar Rescue spk channel the show is about saving a failing pool hall in Denver. 10 pm eastern. repeated 1 am.

Bar rescue came to my home bar.

I had to leave afterwards. The moved all the pool tables in back so there were major obstructions. They also did not re level the tables. Instead they put on crappy felt and put the tables in awkward spots. They definitely did not care about the pool crowd.

Hopefully they did a better job on your place.

Couldn't stand the owner of that bar, he was so full of himself. To toss insults at the people that are there to help you and blame EVERYTHING on everyone else made me dislike him. I fast forwarded to the end to see what they did as far as changing the tables and I was (of course) disappointed.

The blue cloth on the slate and red cloth on the rails and on every other table red on slate and blue on rails was a nauseating effect. Plus, their lighting sucked.

Good lesson on how to ruin a pool room in three days. I'll never understand it....if you want to own a pool room, then run it like one. If you want to own a disco bar with DJ's, then get rid of the the pool tables and run a bar. No halfway real pool player would have anything to do with the place anymore. And, what they did to the tables they ought to be shot for.

They obviously weren't gearing the makeover to pool players and tried to make it more like cosmic bowling. Can't blame em most of the the pool players don't even wanna spend money for a coffee.

100% agree.

Exactly. He specifically stated he was marketing towards young college grads. I knew I would come on here and see nagging.Funny thing is,the guys profits went up because of Jon's changes, instead of being ruined. My only complaint: Have all tables in a place use the same color felt.

I watched it too, and like most guys here , the tables looked like crap. As Neil said if you want a poolroom , make it a pool room. I thought the owner was a jerk too, he thought he was real tough until John pushed him haft way across the room.---Smitty

Pretty obvious the place was a bar first, pool room second. He wasn't even charging for table time before

Saw the program, and after the Rescue the place was making money, and dowing well, as a Bar with Pool Tables. Th Place IHO was always a Bar, more than a Pool Room.

Bar Rescue

I agree that the felt colors they went with were a disaster (red bed/blue rails and blue rails/red bed), but for 90% of the folks that walk in there, they aren't going to play seriously, they are just playing for fun and drinking. It did look like they kept 1 table standard green, which if someone were serious about playing, that's where they'd gravitate towards.

I did like the idea of having a "meal deal" for drinks, appetizers, and table time. I also liked the idea of having a dedicated bar/server station for the tables. Those are the kind of things that can help pack a pool room and make the place a destination that people will go to, stay at, and spend money on.
