Barry Szamboti cue

This cue was very special to me. Barry waited for me and my son Brian, and my son inlaw Chris to stop by his house to visit. He then let us watch, while he was assembling some parts on this cue. I have no idea how many cuemakers have done that before, but it meant a lot to get to see it on a cue being made for us.

Steve, I must agree that it is a huge honor to meet a famous cuemaker and to be treated so well as to see your dream cue being built. Certainly your Barry is a gorgeous cue...but to have a story behind it like meeting the master and watching him work...that is priceless. You are indeed fortunate.

I met Art Cantando under similar curcumstances. I enjoyed a drink and some one pocket with one of my heroes in cuemaking. Art built a cue to my design and let me see him work his skill at the lathe. It is something I will never forget.

I have become good friends with a cue maker from Houston and was lucky enough to see a few different cues being built from the beginning stages all the way through the final buffing over the coarse of the past few months. It is really cool to see how things come together from a raw piece of wood to a finished cue and have construction techniques explained to you.

I have been to Richard Blacks a few times, Been to gus Szamboti's, been to Barry Szambotis, been to Mike Morgans, been to Pete Tascerellas, been to Tony's Black Boar, been to Dennis Searings............everyone was completly open and willing to show me everything they did and all their equiptment. I loved every minute of each trip

will be going to see Joel Hercek in a few months.
