I won't promise frequent or "for the duration" updates, but after about an hour, Chris is two games up. Chris broke and ran the first rack and has been ahead the whole time, but never more than 3 games up.
 
Who's racking, winner or loser? How are each of them breaking? Anybody having success on the equipment with pocketing balls on the break? Inquiring minds want to know! :)

next game

A safety battle in this game. Chris scratches on the six, trying to safe Tommy. Tommy has ball in hand, but gets out of line on the 7 and plays safe. Chris plays safe on the 7, but leaves a bank which Tommy makes but is out of line on the 8 and plays safe. Chris plays a safety on the 8. Tommy tries a tough cut on the 8 and hangs it. Chris has the 9 in the way and is forced to play a safety on the 8 leaving a long shot for Tommy. Tommy overcuts a thin cut on the 8 and leaves it near the pocket. Chris makes the 8 and 9 to go 3 games up.

They are playing loser racks. Neither of them has had great success breaking yet.

There is substantial side action, but I was asked to remain silent as to how much.
 
Chris breaks, but is hooked on the one and plays safe. Tommy plays safe. Chris plays safe, but leaves a tough, long shot on the one which Tommy misses. Chris makes the one and has a very tough shot on the two- long with cue ball frozen on rail. He jacks up and misses the shot. The two goes 4 rails and stops in front of the corner pocket. Tommy runs out to make Chris back to 2 games up.

I wanted to come up today to sweat it but had some other things to do. I hope to make it up there tomorrow. Is there plenty of room for sweaters? Not too over crowded is it? Keep the updates coming.

The fact that it's going back and forth gives me the impression that this is a fair match-up; that is, nobody is getting robbed.

Both players are young and have endurance to go the length. I have a sneaky feeling it's going to be a long night! :D

In a related update--

Sarah Rousey is still dating Jason Klatt.

I will let everyone know if anything changes.

Chris runs to the 8, but gets tough and plays safe. Tommy tries a safety, but leave Chris a long straight shot on the 8. Chris makes it and the 9 to go up 3.

Chris breaks, some safeties. Tommy hangs a 2. Chris has to play a safety on the 3. Tommy banks in the 3 and runs out to put Chris 3 up.
 
Tommy breaks and makes 2 balls. Has a shot on the one. Tries a tough cut on the one in the side and misses but leaves no real shot for Chris. Chris hits the one and leaves no clear shot for Tommy. Tommy plays a safety, but Chris can see the one. Chris makes a tough shot on the one and runs out to go 4 up.
 
Chris breaks dry. Tommy runs to the 9 and hangs a long, fairly straight shot on the nine. Chris is up 5.
