Chris Futrell won the 14 and under class last year. I have him picked for 1st place even though he has been bumped to the 18 and under bracket. I played him in the northwest one night. I he put together a bunch of racks on me, and is barely big enough to play. The kid has a ton of natural ability.

Watch for Josh Marlowe to do well in the 18 and under.

In the 14 and under, I am watching a young man named: Richard Green Jr.

GL to them all.

Justin Bergmann is the 8:5 favorite. This kid has tons of talent and HATES TO LOSE.

Ya, i have heard of Josh. Chris impressed me he hit almost everything at pocket speed. And was wanting to bet $50 100 sets at 14 years old. Reminded me of how a young Keith Mcready may have been.

Keep an eye on Ryan Ward from Ohio. Solid 14 yr old. I pick him to place in the top 4 and a possible 1 place in that division.

Honestly i have no clue about the tops in Jrs, but theres one kid i know

i think his name is Kevin Hall, son of Jason Hall in Michigan, i heard he shoots almost as good as the big dawgs in the area.

And after hearing John Morra is in the 18 and under, he is basically a top 4 player, cuz he has been just beating down on the guys in the Canada Tour.

Junior picks

i agree with watchez justin bergman is the favorite in the 18- under but john morra is close. i think landon shuffet is the favorite in the 14- under. anyone have any picks in the college tourney? i cant say cuz im in it.

Go Mitch and Matt Menes. I see Matt ran into phenom Landon Shuffet in his first match, and went to the left. Hang tough Matt you can come back! :D

Dave,
Kevin can play, but not at Marlowe's speed. Josh won a Fury event a few weeks back. I believe he placed 5/6 or 7/8 last year, with both his losses to Tyler Strawn.

Got off the phone last night with a friend of mine, and his son won his 1st 2 matches in the 14 and under. I am rooting for him specifically, its his first time playing down there.

I have to students taking part in this event, Mitchell and Mathew menes two brothers from Tampa.
Matt lost his 1st round Match to Landen Shuffet who is favorite for the under 14 title. Matt is also one of the favorites in this event so that was a big 1st round match up. watch out for him on the B side.
Mitchell who is playing in the under 18 divison is well capable of causing some big upsets, he won his 1st match over Dan Smith coming from 5-2 down and now takes on Tommy Tokoph in the 3rd round.
I have posted there picture on my site.

Johnny to win BCA Juniors

Johnny is a good kid. Good head on his shoulders and very smart when it comes to pool. In my impression at times he could care less if he plays or not. When he's totally relaxed he get's on fire and not very many players little alone kids give him much of a challenge.

If he keeps at it, he could be one of the best!

Mitchell won his next match 9-5 and matt got a no show so both kids are thru to next round.

In the 14 and under division, keep an eye out for Mike Tosado, a solid "B" player from New York City who plays out of the Amsterdam Billiard Club.

Justin Bergman has the complete package. Tony Robles and I sat and watched him play last month in Jacksonville and we were amazed at this kid's ability, confidence, and his complete lack of fear.

Stan Shuffet has done an excellent job with Landon. Landon is more of a methodical player than Justin Bergman. In about 5-10 years this will be one heck of a good matchup. Overall, I'd give the nod to the guy that will go for the big shots... and that's Justin Bergman. There are many fine up and coming players that play phenomenally well.

Jeremy,

Thats kewl about your friends son, i hope he does well. I know sometimes its a crap shoot in the 14 and under, depending on who you have in your side of the bracket.

One kid last yr who was 9 then, litterally spanked a kid the whole time, but hung 3 9balls and scratched on the 8ball too, in the match, and the kid he lost to, ended up placing in the top 16 lol. And yes he will be one of those kids you need to watch out for when he is 12-14yrs old, a kid by the name of Joe Martinez, i think is his name, he is shooting with a bloodworth, and has a Whitten case lol.
