Opponent has option to spot or rerack. If spotting, he gets bih
8 on the break, you have option to spot it or rerack
But really..... you should get a rule book, they are handy. :grin:
According to the rules that we use in a BCA league, a scratch on the break results in the incoming player having ball in hand anywhere, not behind the string line.
Sinking the 8 ball on the break and scratching, your opponent has the choice of spotting the 8 and taking ball in hand and playing from there, or re-racking and breaking, or forcing you to re-rack and break again.

Didn't BCA stop making their own rules and fully adopt the WPA rules?

Yes, but doesn't the "BCA leagues" mean BCA pool leagues (owned by CSI) which does have a slightly different rule set?

Just make sure you get a new one. The scratch-on-the-break is a relatively new change (as in... the last 10 years).

That I would have no clue about. When I see BCA I think of Billiards Congress of America.
The BCA Pool League (BCAPL),owned and operated by CueSports International (CSI), and the Billiard Congress of America (BCA), are two completely different organizations.
If you sink the 8-ball on the break and also scratch, your opponent no longer has the option of forcing you to re-break. This is true in both BCAPL rules (2-4.2) and BCA rules (3.3.f).
