BCA Vegas- meet, greet, what you're doin'

a sign up sheet and a meet and greet time would be great - for all of us being there for thewhole time it would be nice to meet some new people from AZ...

I will be there from May 13-23.

akatrigger - if you can't find someone to take you to the outdoor bar @ Harrahs, I'll gladly take you. My friends and I go there at least 2 or 3 nights during the time we are in Vega$.

I do have a question - why would anyone go all the way to Vega$ to eat Cheesecake Factory? You can get that in any city in the USA. Go to places that you normally wouldn't go, that is what Vega$ is all about.

Eric- we definitely have to make plans to meet up. Anyone else, always good to meet new people.

Still can't believe that the Riv doesn't have a bar setup for the players to meet at. What a waste for them and the players. I guess people could meet at that upper bar by the stage in the casino??

This is how dumb the Riviera really is. If I owned the place, there would be 50 slot machines and a row of black jack tables in the back by the pool tables.

Oh and one more thing - Justin B. will not be in Vega$ this year. He has quit pool. Please do not ask me where he is or why he is not there.

I'll be there from the14th, arriving late, until the 23rd. I've never played in a Vegas event and I'm looking forward to my first.

Yay!!! :)

Hey, glad to see this thread still going...another month to go...

I hope Mark Griffin does have a forum meet up area. The TAR bar would have been great, but it sounds like that aint happening.

Here's a thought, for those that wanna get together...how bout a dinner? If it's a large group, we can assault a buffet. Harrah's afterwards?

I dont care either way, I just wanna have some fun

Woah! That sucks.

Too bad you cannot sell your talent. Like for $x, you could transplant your talent into someone else. He would have a lot to sell...

we definetly have to have a meetup and I am staying at the riv only for teams and will hav a car since I am at the rio for the first 7 nights...:D

maybe we just meet at the carnival court one night or ........

Maybe Mark can get us skybox to atleast meet in and have a couple drinks togehter.....maybe?

I was just going to go to VNEA this year, but I was just picked up to play BCA teams too! Looks like I will be out there May 18-June 5. I might beed to find a part time job while I am out there.

The Riv DOES NOTHING to keep their hotel guests to STAY and spend their money. From the time you check-in with the rude staff .Theres nowhere to drink if your not gambling, theres NO life out at the pool.I have stayed at the Riv for pool atleast 6 times and I have spent more time drinking and gambling at THE SLOTS OF FUN than I have at the Riv.What does that tell ya.
CAUSE THE RIV HAS NO PERSONALITY AT ALL.

Hi, everyone. I just wanted to point out Mark G. has mentioned about this thread and thought it was a great idea to meet and greet all the AZ'ers.

With no TARBAR this year, it's a little tricky.
We thought about the SkyBox too, but with WPM and US Open 10 Ball going on it would be impossible to keep control.

With everyone coming and going on different dates/ matches being played, maybe we can hold like 3 meetings?

One at the pool, one out to dinner and such?

I am opened to all ideas and may even drag Mark out to one of those greetings ;)

I thought in 2007 when I was out there there was an AZBilliards Skybox. It wasn't by the pro arena skyboxes, it was up the stairs next to the ticket office for the pro events. There was a table in there to play on and everything. People could just come and go as they please. Did I just imagine that possibly?

What if we do an AZBilliards meet-up in the amateur arena one night after the matches are done? Just like they do with the event where you can pay some money and play a pro and get your picture and stuff. Only, for AZ members. God I hope that makes sense to someone other than me. lol.

Nope, it was there. There was a Skybox, with one table. Our own Holly Ryan was manning the booth, for the most part.

Eric >last time I ran into Holly

Thank God I'm not losing my mind...yet!

The other thing I was thinking was that we could use the same room/rooms the TAR Bar was in last year later in the evening after matches are done being played in there. They always have a small bar setup just outside that room so it wouldn't be a long walk for booze.

Of course if we do it in the big arena where the on the front tables where the Grand Masters division gets played, TAR will be setup there streaming so maybe we can convince them into staying up and running during the evening and we can stream our get together and some matches between AZ members?
