Bca vs Apa

You actually want a trial by pears?

Yellow fruit can not be trusted to be impartial, my man...

Up here in the Northeast, my parents taught me to never eat the yellow snow. Yellow things must be related somehow:p!

Dear Scott,
Rules are rules and they, by the rules, are required at the LOCAL level as stated by Mark Griffin in his advertisement on the internet. So when is that going to happen? Or does he advertise faulsely. Sorry about the mis-spelling of Mr Stocks Name.

Carl...Not for nothin', but the BCAPL's head ref's name is Bill STOCK, not Stork! :D In my experience traveling around the country, and seeing many BCAPL's in play, I do know that, at the local level, the LO can do many things that are not allowed at the state, regional, and national level.

One of the main reasons why you should play BCAPL is that we (the staff of BCAPL) actually are all pool players.

We read the AZ Forums and we will make comments.

We are invovled in the whole industry - from the players on up.

We add many thousands of dollars to state, local, regional, and national events.

We think we have the best program out there - I am sure others feel the same about their product also - but we offer more options to more players.

And how often do you get a response from the CEO in under an hour?!?!?!?

Seriously, if you have any comments or suggestions, please contact our office 702-719-7665. Thanks

I just went out to what I think is the BCA site, playbca.com, and for the heck of it went to the find a league area, I'd maybe like to play in another league. Lo and behold you have some kind of legal nonsense I have "agree to" before I can get to the search area. That is nonsense. If you want to be circumspect with email addresses and phone numbers etc., fine, you can still provide information as to what is available close to a particular zip-code without releasing that information. I think you are be way to paranoid, nobody is out to get you, and if they are they're liable with or without that agreement. I won't agree to it just on general principals so I guess I won't satisfy my curiosity and find out what is in my area.

we have a masters league here. not many teams in it. i think there is 6 if my memory is correct. one team is all 4s and 5s , maybe 1 6 on it. team name ? we aint scared. lol

How the hell do you compete? Aren't the Masters leagues non-handicapped?

Catscradle - you are way overreacting.
The site only asks you agree that if you go to this site, it is for personal use. We had several instances where League Operators were getting spammed and junk mail and solicitations - and the address could only have come from our site.

So we put in a disclaimer that anyone using the site for another purpose is liable.

That is only to protect the information to be used as designed.

I am sorry if you cannot understand that - but you are not giving up ANY info like name or address etc.

lol . yes it is non handicapped. some of us just like to play pool. i am a 5 and i have the opinion that in order to play better you have to play against better players. i also play in a handicapped league so my gf and i can play on the same team. i would much rather match up with a 7 than a 2 or 3, i seem to play better against a 7 , guess its just the challenge. i do beat a 6 or 7 once in a while and twice beat an 8. it feels a whole lot better than beatin the crap outa 2s and 3s in the handicapped league lol.

league verses league

Alright there is plenty of Apa bashing so i should start out confessing that i play in apa leagues as well as tap leagues. Bca in my immediate area died last year. aboth leagues have their merit. Tap has higher overall level of competition but there are plenty of very strong apa players in my area. I am in metro Atlanta. We have apa players who finish in the top at the US amateur as well as beginners. The apa does generate more new players to league play due to the 23 rule and that helps everyone. Many apa players also play tap in this area and were playing bca also. So see what is available in your area and try them alll and see what fits.
