Bergman vs Shaw updates

Justin's defense, banks, cue ball control and ball pocketing skills are as good as anybody on the planet imo.

His break might be his only weakness but he is a fearless and smart player that plays jam up on all tables and all games.

I really think he should play some of the big World Championship events there is no doubt in my mind that he can compete at that level.

I agree wish he could play more over seas

I watched Justin beat Alex TWO sets in a row to win the 8 Ball at Jamacia Joes. After Alex put a seven pack on him.

Whatever he was before, damn good road player, decent pro etc.., he is a certifiable bonafide CHAMPION now.

Yea he's playing like monster

Wow wasn't able to buy the ppv last night because of league, but even though I know what Bergman is capable of I'm still surprised at the day 1 score. I'll be watching tonight.

Bergman is just a barbox ace, a 2nd tier pro, definitely not elite. :)

I'm glad he's beating the brakes off Shaw. I hope he continues that today, I hope to collect my action money sometime tomorrow and I really hope to see him play again on the mosconi cup team where he belongs.

What the hell is The Hustlers?

You know, that TV show where they list the top 10 players from the NYC area, being that Jayson Shaw is from there and not on "The List", this is surprising that someone staked him, I would think they would put up Emily or perhaps the skateboarder dude before this Jayson guy, I'm sure they would give a little more fight, more interest, and definitely take the shots more seriously, he seems to be just smashing balls around on someone else's dime.

Just my view of the match.
Haha

if bergman is second tier pro and he just roasted shaw, what level is shaw? :sorry:

Bergman played really good and got the rolls but Shaw really needs to work on his demeanor.

I mean I'm sure it's frustrating to have someone play so strong against you and get seemingly every single roll (there was one game towards the end where JB broke dry, hooked JS, JS kicked pretty safe but got unlucky and left a window between a whole wall of balls, JB shoots to make it, misses and flat out luckily hooked JS again with the 6 ball), but you can't walk around slumped shouldered and whine about it. Well I guess you can but it's not going to help your cause.

It affected his play too, he got sloppy and even pushed out to a free shot on one occasion. If that continues today, it's going to be ugly, well uglier.

He could use a coach to work on that. Look at the top players in other sports and how they handle themselves... keep fighting man! Did anyone watch the Presidents cup and how a couple of the international team members dealt with their situations? Very professionally!

BTW, I'm changing my prediction yet again, JB destroys JS tonight (let's see if I'm wrong a 3rd time).

Very impressed with Bergman's game last night. He stayed in line, had great cue control, missed very few shots, played masterful safes, and just out classed Shaw. His break was ok, but everything after the break was A+.

As soon as I saw how Shaw was playing, I knew he would get out of line. He takes almost no time to look at the table and is the classic gunslinger. When it's working, I'm sure it's a sight to behold, but you can't miss balls at this level. And his safety play was WEAK.

these results have really surprised me...much more respect for bergmans game now. before the match I thought shaw could beat bergman on his worst day by an easy 10-15 games. that score is hard to believe. I hope this match will be recorded and released to youtube soon

BarBoxBergy did pretty good. :D

You know....there is a 'middle' of our country....and there are pool tables there. :D

Justin did play good .
The break will hurt him vs a top player who is playing good .
I have always liked his game .
Finding a good break when that's not your strong point is hard .
I can tell you first hand when your playing too players you better break good .
I broke bad for 3 or 4 months and it really cost me my match playing Oscar .

Don't call it a comeback

i wouldn't be surprised to see Shaw show up today with a better mindset and play very well tonite. Two fantastic players meet sometimes they both play great but usually one gets the worse end of it and can't get things on track. Congrats to Justin and good luck to Jason he's got a big hole to dig out of, I am enjoying the cheap lessons. And Teach is doing a good job w the stats, would enjoy seeing more of this on streams, makes me want to start challenge stream for the my locals here in KC so they can challenge each other and for when players come thru here. Nice job Teacher from Todd in KC.

On that note, nice job forum member Watchez! I enjoyed the commentary and I can't say that very often.

Say hi to my good buddy Ron, I know he's there in person. Also, Chisolm says he can kick your ass at golden tee (not really but I know you both play).
