Best 8 Money Players in the World (by region)

Efren is still the philippine money king because the biggest game is rotation..i have also read reports on the site of him beating orcullo at ten ball

SVB's challenge to Efren has nothing to do with how Efren and Dennis match-up or it's outcome.

Stalev would crush him. A few years ago I could beat Konstantin Stepanov. There used to be a Konstantin Zolitilov from Russia as well, I wonder what happened to that kid... I hung out with them when they came for the US Open for the first time back in 2002 I think it was. Another crazy kid that came with them was Grigory Zima... I don't think he plays much pool anymore though.

I think Ronnie gives Efren the toughest match in rotation... He just runs out from anywhere. Efren neutralizes it by soft breaking... Ronnie might get out better but he can't out-move Efren.

Just because he is of Mexican descent, does not make him automatically a Mexican National representative. He could be American.

If he is actually from Mexico, he might be tops, but I know there some super strong ass players :eek: there that most have never heard of as they do not travel to the states or anywhere else for that matter.

James Walden? As the best money player in the US? My take on the question assumes that it was meant as to who was the best money player playing even. I would think you would do well to even make a strong argument for him being in the top 10. But #1?

There was a video of a money match between the 2 on the old poolhub on DC++. It was a long race (to 35 or something like that) and Konstantin Stepanov won.

a few years back chavez stayed in the houston area. i think he was there for a while

Chavez is most definitely Mexican. Although there are some good players in Mexico, no one there can beat him. (Rafael and Ernesto aren't in Mexico).

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that there is much difference at all in skill level between him and whoever may be the absolute best money player, or that he can't beat anyone at any particular time. He deserves to be on any comprehensive list of the very best money players. It is just that there are an easy handful of people that you have to give the edge to IMO. When there are handful to choose from that are obvious choices to be slightly ahead of him, it makes me wonder why his name would be thrown out in a discussion looking only for the ONE very best in the US. I could expect to hear any of the handfuls names.

That was my impression from what I'd read. I just thought he desverved a mention with the results he has had recently. Sounds like a top money player!

My impression on stalev was that he was a better money player than tournaments. Stepanov probably has the edge in tournaments given he's outstanding success on the euro tour recently.
 
Alex hasn't lived here in years, and nobody touches Efren even

If some really reputable sources can attest to Orcullo beating Efren then I'll have no choice to believe them but afaik it's all hearsay

He was there in November and won theFast Eddies event quite handily.He then beat Jeremy Jones a few nights later playing 10 ball with Mago getting the 9.

I loved hisplay and became a big fan of his as I bought him in the cal I mean the AUCTION.
