Best action in your area?

Respect your position...and I have nothing against the bar box action at Shooters. But I was describing an experience at a dive called *SidePockets*.

Appears you were in Wichita during Gabe's stay there. Did you know he had to move to Tulsa to find action?

Just to clarify Dave, The Shooter's I am referring to is in the Kansas City Metro area, its about 300 miles further west in the cow pasture to Wichita:rolleyes:

Action at the Q Club regularly. A 2,000 dollar set was played their last week. Usually can get 100 a game one pocket action on a daily bases with the guy that owns the room or some of the locals. Road players need to stop and check it out.

You wanna talk about a great poolroom. The Q Club in Terre Haute might be my favorite one I've been in in the state of IN. My buddies and I used to make the drive over there to play sometimes when we went to IU. Great equipment, good lookin room, nice people, and apparently some good action though I'm never really lookin for much. I just wish it was a little bit closer. I'm gonna have to make myself take a trip over there this summer.

Thanks for the reply I wasn't sure of the name of his place but when 1 on 1 said the owner likes to gamble I thought it had to be Jim. You're right he is a super nice guy and Chicago's lost a little without him. Say high to him for me please tell him Phil Welch says hi. Thanks Christy. Philw

Wichita

Shooters in Wichita is pool in a bar room. DO NOT mistake this bar with the room in KC.

You can challenge the table - Wichita loves it's pool.

I have beat almost all of the gamblers in the city, but have always been undercover.

Ask Jeremy or Steve how I was willing to play them 1 pocket......

Snapshot, not personal, but come out. Bet what you want.....

Some would argue barboxes ain't real pool. Even shortstops can run racks on those cannot miss bar tables. Heck, even if one gets outta line on a bar table, bankin' ain't no challenge. Real players would prefer to matchup with another real player on a real table, IMO. One can hide their true speed much betta on the big table too. A good tight 9-footer expands the game in many ways, don'tcha think?

Shooters

AzDave .... I don't know where you were, maybe SidePockets bar on South Broadway, not SidePockets Billiards at 600 S. Tyler out west, but it is a classy upscale place.

I am sorry you had such a bad experience, but if you come back, look me up, and I will show you a much better time, and you can get played.

LTG ...
As far as coming out and betting: coming out to where? If you beat Jeremy and Lil Steve EVEN UP, then you have my respect, because both are good. Shooters in Olathe is a real nice place to play, with real good tournaments and action. I am glad they opened it back up again.
You must be in Olathe, and no, you haven't beat most of the gamblers in Wichita, because just a few go to Olathe. Come on down, and Play Mark Rogers, he will play you, and you can bet high with him.

As far as big tables, I haven't touched one in 5 years, but grew up on them. I simply do not like using a crutch so much. As far as hiding speed, yes you can hide speed on them, because safeties are so very easy to play on a big table. I am not scared to play a big table, the last time I played, I went from $200 sets on a bar table to $400 sets on a big table, when I hadn't touched one in 2 years. How many other players have those kind of balls?

Hope I'm not going too far off topic here, but others mentioned it...I've noticed that ever since the state of Oregon got into online gambling, there's been less pool playing going on. Every bar now seems to survive off the state run video poker & slot machines. Kind of sad....Oregon pool action? Portland and Salem, for the most part.

Yep, that's the dive with the poor lighting, sticky rails, beer soaked pockets, snippy barmaids, and where they don't even apologize for dumping beer in your cue case. And then they want to charge you for an hours play when you didn't even take one shot. It's a place to avoid.
