I’m not the sharpest card in the deck anymore. So I need the easiest dvd to teach how to do basic banks. Not looking for fancy three rail banks, not looking to become a bank shot player. Just nice one rail banks. John brumback name comes up a lot with his dvd.
‘something really easy along the diamond lines-2-1, 3-1.5, 4-2, etc. thanks for any recommendations.

Tor Lowry has some great online lessons. The kicking and banking systems are simple and quick to learn.

I like shooting at specific shots (see contact point aiming). That said, what I do with banks is draw the bank angle not through the center of the object ball, but across the outside edge of the ball and back to the far facing of the pocket - the defacto limit of the shot. I'm not crazy about banks but just that one step allows me to apply "bank sense" to a tangible entity and not something into the air.

There are pointers there to lots of other stuff.

And this just came across my YouTube feed. I haven't watched it, but I've heard of Bugs....

Outstanding information in my friend's YouTube Channel - Dr. Cue -

judochoke...You won't take this advice anyway, but I'll share it with you. Videos are okay, but they cannot answer a question, nor can they observe and critique how you set up and deliver the cue. Get a lesson from a qualified professional instructor, one who uses video analysis, and the mystery behind banking will disappear.

Scott, would love to take some lessons from you. Do you ever get out to Southern California at all?

Not a DVD, but the banking with the beard and gospool books are great resources on the subject.

The 2:1 principle using the diamonds is pretty much all the aiming info you need for 1-rail banks. The other piece of necessary info is to aim a little short (say, at the diamond behind the 2:1 spot on the cushion nose) unless you're hitting 'em pretty hard or somehow spinning the ball.

Of course, this assumes you have no issues with your stance and/or stroke.

I don't know what happened but I watched John's video for about 10 minutes one day.

From that time on, my banking improved by at least 50% or so...literally.

I'm thinking it was his pace of hit, but not sure. I'm loving it! I was just complimented on my banking the other night at league as it won me two games. I decided that lined up cross banks were easier than a straight in shot. I was right.

Good luck,

The Beard had made two banking DVDs too which I thought were pretty good:

Banking with the Beard and Banks that Don’t Go But Do. I’m thinning out my collection of pool stuff (courtesy of my wife) and will be happy to part with my copies if of interest. Just shoot me a pm

Check Dr. Dave's videos, also banking by numbers on YouTube by 12YFAO.
Some good information on the foundation of 1&2 rail systems and track lines.

judochoke...I sent you a pm asking for an email and/or contact information, regarding S CA lessons. That was two months ago...
