Best bank players in the world

Brumbeck, Glen "Peggy Banks" Rogers, Truman, Buckey Bell, Dalton..., nobody beats these guys in banks, I've watched them all for years.

Honorable Mention: Cliff Joyner, Mark Jarvis, Ike Runnels, Chri McDoland.

really, SVB gets no mention even though he took 2nd in DCC banks last year? And Mark Jarvis, really? He's on your list for Best Bank Players in the World ? Does he owe you money or something :)

Murph, a little birdie told me that everyone, including a big name in this thread, was ducking you for any action in banks.

Also heard that there's a very sporty 16 yr. old that's lights out right now. I'll name no names.

Just curious as to your response.

Brumback is the best.

My top ten would be rounded out, in no particular order, with Tony Coleman, Glen Rogers, John Pinegar, Alex Pagulayan, Jeremy Jones, Scott Frost, John Morra, Shane Van Boening, and Truman Hogue.

Gotta admit it, though, New Yorkers like me don't see this game played other than at Derby City.

I haven't watched all of them play full rack but from what I have seen here are my 5 favorites...

Brumback, Murphy, Shannon, JJ, Morra

And I think Billy Thorpe will be a handful soon!!!

I wouldn't consider Tony Coleman a top bank player at all...even though he donates to the bank ring game every year at the derby to donate his money and try to look cool...I think Ryan Stone plays banks(and everything else) pretty sporty so I'd have to put him right up there JMO

John Brumback
Brian Gregg
Shannon Daulton
Scott Frost
Jason Miller
Truman Hogue
Louis Demarco
Chris Gentile
Shannon Murphy

I'm talking about guys that can play full rack or short rack for the long haul, not short races to 3.

I think this list should specify 'full rack' or 'short rack'....

At short rack banks I feel there are many contenders...the records at
DCC show this...short rack banks favor offensive players and there are
lots of top players that can bank.

Full rack banks may require more knowledge than 1-pocket....
...the 'moves' are crucial...

I'll take John Brumback for the full rack category at this time in history.

Hello PT109,
I have been worried about you being OK. I had not heard from you on the forum until today. Glad you are OK in the wake after the storm. I hope all is well with you and your family!
Many Regards,

This Saturday

You might get a chance to see a few of these guys this Saturday at Red Shoes in Chicago. They have a bank tournament this Saturday. I think it was Julys full rack bank tournament that John Brumbeck won . I was there for that one.

Dont forget about Richey Rich. he can bank a lil bit

Richie Rich,
is in New Orleans, Louisiana at Buffalo Billiards. He does play good pool. He beat Cliff Joyner a week or two ago playing One Pocket 8/7 at Buffalo Billiards. Banks won the set for him. We are talking about Richie Richeson, right?
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

for us dummies, what is meant by "short and full" racks?

Short Rack Banks is played with 9 balls racked like you do for 9 ball and the first person to bank 5 shots first wins.

Full Rack Banks is played with all 15 balls and the winner is the person who banks 8 balls first.

Obviously both versions of Bank Pool can be handicapped.

I hope this helps.
