Best bar box player

Of All time?

1.SVB
2.Keith McCready and Buddy Hall
3.Matlock
4.Frosty
5.Glen Atwell

Of all time..I would break the Bar Box game down in two ways..Big Cue Ball and regular cue ball..very different.

With the Big Ball
Keith Mcready and Dave Matlock were monsters

With the Regular Ball
Buddy was the Man

You should stake him against Johnny Archer and see if you like it. Johnny is a very good bar table player and I dont see SVB asking him to play. Johnny has offered to play him those nice long sets to 100. Also, Johnny has been playing at this high level for about 15 yrs. See if Shane would like to go to Georgia

Johnny can get played at Derby against Shane on a barbox in 10 Ball or 8 Ball. I may not like it but I will bet, how about you?

Keith

I did not come from the time when the talented Mr McCready was in his prime. Have heard many stories about how great he was.(and still is,IMO)
You are probably very accurate. The players of today can't understand how well he played back then. Acutally, Glenn has mentioned that fact on a few occasions.

One of the things about Keith, that think made him different from other players, was his style of play. He walked around the table relaxed, no matter what the bet was. He didn't take 30 or 40 seconds on every shot. He saw the shots, and the angles, and just walked around shooting the lights out.

I've played Glenn in Vegas. He's a great player and has the ability to beat every living human in tournament play. His game is slow and deliberate. But if he had been gambling with someone like Keith, back in his road days, who knows how he would react mentally. It's a scary thing when your opponent just walks around, making every shot in sight, running rack after rack, and looking like he's just knocking balls around while waiting on some waitress to bring his cheeseburger from the kitchen.

I'm not taking anything away from anyone mentioned here, they're all great players. But my picks for best of all time on the bar table, Keith, Buddy, Matlock. But right at the moment, SVB has to be my pick.

Can I get an AMEN brothers . . .

Of all time.. .

With the Regular Ball
Buddy was the Man

A master of cue ball control on tight 7' bar boxes . . . and made it count when the cash was on the lights.

While i think its probably SvB. You dont see him calling up Jesse B to try and set up a race to 100 or 150.

Just saying.
