Best Bridge Heads???

I'm tired of trying to use the junkie bridges at the local bars. They fall apart and scratch up your shaft. So, I'm looking into getting a telescoping bridge stick and a nice bridge head to go with it that I can just carry around with me. I've seen and heard about Just a Bridge or Justa-Bridge and wondered if it would slip over any stick? Does anybody use this bridge head and if so what are your experiences? Cheapest place to get it? Any better alternatives to the Justa-Bridge? Also, does anybody use a telescoping bridge? I think they are for handicap people but it seemed like an easy portable solution as long as they actually get the job done. The one I found was at http://www.billiardsexpress.com/
That was the only place I could find it. It's called the X-bridge for anybody else that might be interested. It doesn't say how far it extends but I assume to around 58".

The first and best telescoping system is the Stretch System. It's what I use.

Here it is from his website: http://www.billiardsexpress.com/, then on the left menu, click on bridges and bridge heads.

But the Stretch System is better. You can turn it at an angle to get right over a ball, you can also use it for jumping. My buddy Mike Danner will set you up. Dan Louie and Rich Geiler also use it.

I've got one of those cheap black moose head bridges off ebay and it does the trick for me. I rarely need it tho as i play left handed instead of using a bridge.

I am sorry, but that stretch system is about the worst money I have ever spent on a pool product. I have yet to use mine because it is so clunky and awkward. Really not practicle for taking around at all.

Instead, I had custom extensions made that screw into the butt of my cue and bought a Just-a-bridge as well for when my own personal bridge will not work. My personal bridge I also share out to others who ask about it. I am not planning on marketing it for a profit, just too many products out there already. I also have something called a bridge buddy that works okay as well. It is a collapsable bridge that is somewhat adjustable.

If it was my money and I was concerned about scratching up my cue, I would simply go with the Just-a-bridge. Too versitile and nice compared to the others.

Bob Dzuricky makes a leather bridge head, 10 bucks plus shipping. I just grab a house cue and attach it. Very suitable if you want to get away from the hard plastic bridge heads, and don't want to use metal house bridges.

Bob's website is dzcues.com.

Thanks for all the input guys. I think I might just get a justa-bridge and a leather bridge and see which one I like best. Everyone seems to be split 50:50 on them. Hopefully they will both slip on to the telescoping bridge extender. Does the leather let the cue slide freely? If you were to really stroke through a ball to maybe draw back to the other end of the table or something would the cue glide through the leather good enough?

i use the leather bridge exclusivly...i also have treated it with "Son of a Gun" or you can use any leather treatment..or none at all...but i treated it after i first used it a few times...either way i know with the leather my pool cue will Not be harmed....if you do decide to go with a plastic or metal bridge take like 220 grit sand paper and smooth it out even better than what it looks or feels like....sometimes they arrive with very slight burrs from the mold..

I agree...

I love the old removeable Moose bridge head the best personally, but I did use the sandpaper on it just to make sure it was smooth and safe for the cue. I also like the leather one that CueJoey mentions. It was very nice, but I wish it had more variable heights. Somebody will make the Moose bridge out of clear material some day I hope.

That telescopic bridge holder from Kinister is the nuts. When palying Golf on a 12 foot snooker table, there is no better friend in the world. Thanks Bert and CueJoey!

I didn't think this thread was going to be so informative, but it turned out great. Nice comments!

I just had to do it:
