I saw many good three cushion cues but have very little or no experience playing them. I know many of you have played with some of these before and know how the hits are, especially the shaft's technology and how different they are..
Adam Musashi with ACSS shaft, Longoni S2, tiger cue with Low deflection shaft, and predator 314 endorse by Blomdahl.

I heard pedro and mazin play with tiger LD shaft, they must be one of the best shaft

Thanks,

While there is no "best" what cue you like and why might be helpful to those of us wanting to learn the game and thinking about getting a billiard cue.

I prefer non- LD shafts...I have a Kilby that I like lots and I also have a hot rod conversion done by Adrian Viguera.

The Viguera plays a bit softer and I prefer its hit, but the Kilby is the one that I use more coz I feel it is a bit more accurate. I use Ron's 'Shooni taper' shaft.

I think its a matter of the amount of deflection you want in the shaft that's the important part. I believe that could have been the purpose of makeing the "Billiard cue" to begin with. Stiffer shafts have now gone into the pool games as well. I have 3 kinds of shafts ..stiff...whippy and a middle of the road also. For me..I lose the ability to put a lot of english on the cue ball if I play with a stiff shaft and its hard to control my hit if its to whippy. . So like they say ...it's really up to you to find the one that works best for you. Hope this hepls ya.

Im kinda obsessed with the low deflection technology that created for pool and wonder how it will help in three cushion.

I discovered recently the ACSS shaft made by Adam has a very long hole in it. I will ask to play with it when i see my friend cuz he owns one. Do most of the Adam Pro. play with the ACSS shaft?

Especially in this day and age, cues are not technologically equivalent.

I would highly recommend that you try the new Molinari brand of cues designed expressly for carom by Predator. Many carom production cues these days are marketed as low-deflection but all they offer is a laminated construction shaft.

Radial lamination itself does not provide low-deflection. It only offers consistent deflection regardless of which way the cue is rotated - that is, provided that a shore-hardness test has been conducted on each segment of wood during the shaft assembly process, as Predator does with all their shafts.

The new Predator 314 "3C" carom shafts are truly different in performance than any other brand of carom cue due to the unique front-end cavity inside the shaft. These are not simply Predator pool shafts with a fatter taper. These shafts were developed from the ground up for carom games. The material removed is balanced against the mass of a regulation 61.5mm carom ball to maximize ballstriking performance.

You have to experience this technology to understand just how effective it is. I have personally switched to Molinari from a high-end Adam cue from Japan (that Sang Lee gifted to me) I've been shooting with for 15 years. The performance difference was compelling enough for Torbjorn Blomdahl to switch from Adam to Predator technology after over 30 years.

Thanks Ira..I am saving up some money to buy one. Im not very good at compensating for hits with side spin. Molinary cue with Predator technology should help my game and boost my confident. The Blomdahl Version is a must have now. Thx

Sight, Did you ever purchase the Molinari cue?
Just wondering your thoughts on how it plays!

If you did, give us some feedback.

The red pill

sightline, hopefully you're still saving up for the Blomdahl P3 cue.. ;)
Bill, hopefully someone in your area will have one soon - that you may try it firsthand. I've sold several cues in FL already.

We just sold two more Molinari's last night at Carom Cafe (a grey Predator P3 and a full-splice) based on word-of-mouth recommendations - the cues are getting rave reviews and more top-player adoption.

So far, practically everyone really loves the cue. In order to get the most value from the Predator "314 3C" shaft, it helps greatly to consciously understand deflection (i.e. have a specific compensation strategy). For those prepared to invest a little time on fine tuning their alignment/aiming with english more intimately, the rewards are greater.

It's all about the technology: the lower front-end-mass design is what makes it a revolutionary cue. The specially engineered shaft cavity causes the ball to deflect measurably less, so you can't continue aiming as you would with a traditional solid wood shaft - which would be a mistake. Anyone that tries the cue must brace themselves for very noticeable performance change. I think the adjustment period is worth it and varies from player to player. I've noticed that some players seem to adapt astoundingly quickly while others take more time to internalize just how low the deflection truly is - before fully appreciating the technology. While the ballstriking control alone is the clearest advantage - Predator's butt construction provides great feedback, feel and power.

All of the Molinari cues are now available on Kozoom's store. US buyers will save money (e.g. Euro VAT tax and international freight charges) by ordering online directly from this online 3cushioncues.com store.

Ira,

I have been playing with molinari since 11/19/2012.

I am used to it now and I appreciate what that cue is capable of,It's hard to me to explain it , But I have a good feeling about it .
For 25 years ,from Adam to schuler to longoni and now molinari.
I pick Molinari .I trust the equipment so bad , very consistent, and the good point is all the shafts are identical.

Every cue is different , not to take away the other brand, Molinari is my favorite .

I am sure a fancy model are gonna come up very soon, and would love to buy one more .
