Looking to get into something new from my old joss, got about a $300 max right now looking at some predators but not sure I can afford them :/ anyone got any suggestions in this price range for a good quality cue? Or even have anything used in good condition in this price range? Figured I should add I prefer something with a nylon wrap, looked at meucci 97-9 today and didn't like the laminate over the nylon wrap :/

It's a linen wrap and you should not buy a Meucci anyway. The quality is very hit or miss leaning towards miss.
If you check out the for sale section there should be some nice cues in that price range. Be sure to check out the sellers I-Trader rating first.New cues there are always the usual suspects
Joss
Viking
McDermott
I have a Lucasi cue and I think it's great.

I have a custom Jimi lee cue plays good looking to get 300 shipped .

Either keep the butt from your Joss, or find another one you like for around $100. Then have Mike Gulyassy (Baby's Pro Shop) make you one of his SPTX shafts with a Kamui Black Soft tip (<$200).

I love my SPTX. It is low deflection, and, in my unscientific testing, I can't see any difference between it and a Predator 314 2, deflection wise. It feels and plays much better, though. I have it paired with a Schmelke butt (M020 rosewood, No. 4 (3/8 x 10) joint), which I also highly recommend.

Awesome thanks for the help guys! I've also heard bad things about meucci all over the web, really like predators designs, but maybe a bit out of my price range

I'll get back with everyone who pmed me ASAP, thinking about a month or so I'll he ready to purchase new cue, def keepin my eyes out for something at decent price in mean time

What's the overall consensus on Lucasi cues? They seem to be fairly nice looking well made cues for reasonable prices, any input on them? Btw just wanted to say this forum rocks!! Hands down best billiard forum on net! Thanks for all the help already everyone!

I've never played with one, but a new Dale Perry on ebay with a starting bid of $99.00 seems cheap!!

lucasi cues are a great deal. imo they're the best playing cue on the market dollar for dollar. the taper is a little long for me and there are small flaws here and there (ie feeling the ring work and inlays through the finish) but other than tha they play good. if you like the designs and don't mind the long taper i'd go ahead and get one.

which one did you have your eye on?

Lhc97 and the lz2004, both similar designs, I'm big fan of both, jus made another post in review section wondering if anyone has tried wither cue and has any feedback on em, found em on eBay with 2x2 case and a players break cue for about 350 for either one brand new, they have uniloc joints so could always upgrade to nicer shaft :)

Pechauer just went to a Schon style shaft and you can buy many nice ones new or used on ebay or new direct from Pechauer under 300.00 ...

I also like the metal jointed Joss Cue models, pretty easy to find new or used Joss under 300.00 as well on ebay ...

Both are 100% MADE IN USA by American Craftsman & Citizens...

Pechauer has been using their own quick release joint for awhile. You could only buy shafts from them. Have they changed to a conventional pin style?

they have both I like the new one (PRO SERIES) better...

Don't know if Predator makes a Pechauer Shaft but you can get OB-1 and OB-2 for Pechauer ...

That still looks like their own quick release pin. You can get a Schon shaft about 3/4 screwed on then it stops when it hits the non thread part.
The flat face is the JP series and the piloted is the Pro series. Been there with Pechauer.
