I'd like to know who you all think is doing the best work. I'm wanting stuff such as best quality, best design, best resale, best, best, best, you get the picture. I like the way Weston cues look. Along with lots others. The newer Joss West cues look amazing. There are a lot more. If you don't know many custom cues look here www.indyq.com . There are usually some amazing looking cues on this site.

Coker vs. Espiritu

While we're on the topic of "best cues" I thought this might be a good spot to ask a question regarding this. I'm curious what the opinions on here are regarding a Coker vs. an Espiritu...now I know a lot of this is personal opinion, taste and preference so having said that, I do prefer a cue that has a more solid/firm hit.

Just curious to hear some opinions and personal preferences...

(Oh and in case it matters the cues I'm looking at currently are a 1996 Espiritu vs a more recent Coker (03 or so I believe.)

Are we talking about cues as an investment, or as a playing instrument?

Investment cues - Balabushka, Szamboti, Hercek, Burton Spain, Tascarella, Black Boar, Cognoscenti, Richard Black

Best bang for the buck (players) - McDermott, Schon, Joss, Mezz, Viking, Pechauer, Carolina Custom Cues, Samsara Bar Cues, Dominiak.

Just my opinion.

Actually either you want to mention. Such as Josey's cues. Play great, sharp design, excelent quality. Cognscenti I'll say the same although I've never hit a ball with one.

Gilbert

We're talking almost strictly about all the big named guys. There are at least a handful of high quality low ego cue makers that are somewhat off the map that produce the very same level of quality for half the price.

Hightower, Wayne Holmes, Madden just to name a couple off the top of my head.

Don't forget Any Gilbert or Skip Weston. Two guys that make some of the meanest spliced and recut points on the planet, without the "snob" surcharge that Tascarella and Hercek charge.
