I don't know if this is off topic or not, but I'm interested to know what the best meals at a pool hall you've had are and where you had them!

I once saw a show on Food Network that had a bowling alley with really great organic gourmet meals that were pretty imaginative. I think this would be great at a pool hall as well!

I've never had a meal any better than McDonald's (and a lot that are way worse) at a pool hall.

Hands down for me it was Chattanooga Billiards Club.

Best burger was at a pool room in Spokane Wa. Don't know if it was the burger or if I was just extremely hugry. It was the bomb.

Also have to give some props to Doug James and his wife. When he owned a room and had a tournament they would always make some homecooked meals and have them available cheap.

The Buffalo Wings at Starchers Billiards in Akron, Ohio. Too bad they are closed now, but Dottie sure new how to cook.

Hollywood Billiards in Hollywood, CA. Since we fix the tables there, I get to try out pretty much the entire menu. Have not found a single thing I did not love there. Cheesecake and Catfish are the stone cold nuts.

Yankee Doodles in Santa Monica had pretty good burgers as I recall.

Jointed Cue in Sacramento had really strong burgers and shakes. The last 2 below In N Out. :p

Gaslamp in San Diego had good food, but I think its closed??

Best food in pool room

The five years I was at FT. Carson CO., the original Table Steaks in Denver had a great menu 24 hr a day. The Camel Pro 10 ball tournament always had players there after play was done for the day. Have to give Kudos to Hollywood Billiards food during the Swanie a couple of years ago when I was there.

My local poolhall has an excellent kitchen, some of my favorites are:

Dinner:
- Pizza Taco
- Sate Babi
- Mixed Grill

Lunch:
- Goulash soup
- Fried Chicken baguette
- Taco baguette

Snacks:
- Calamares
- The snacks we get at league nights (not on the menu)

My favorite out of all these would probably be the Sate Babi,
their fries are real good too.

you know, i went to the Netherlands (Amsterdam) once, and I NEVER had a meal that didn't taste amazing.

Coulda been the weed :groucho:

Bakers Billiards in Tampa hadda strong kitchen for yrs when the owners wife had her apron on. Hollywood Billiards in Florida has home cooking goin on in their kitchen. Nothin' strange about gettin stuffed cabbage one day and T-bone the next...mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

An old lady that lived across the street from my pool room baked brownies every morning. I bought 48 of them every morning. They were always sold out by 6 pm. Very good for the munchies:D . Johnnuyt

MR. Cues in Atlanta has a crazy chicken strip basket for $5. You get like 6 or 8 large sized strips that taste better than something from KFC.

Best I've had for the money in a pool room. Matter of fact I was there a week and ate the same strip basket each day. That's pretty strong. lol

the pool room in duluth usually has some good stuff going on. i used to cook for a living so one of the managers ,don, is always giving me things to try that they are thinking about using as specials or adding to the menu. they do a pretty good job with bar food.

A hot brisket on rye, hand sliced and piled high. The fresh rye bread was also hand sliced on an angle to give it big thick slices.

Cost: $1.10
Where: Plaza Billiard Accadamy in downtown Baltimore.
When: early 60's.

they also have some kick ass chicken salad!

Ok, I'll bite. (just a littletongue in cheek there  )

Snookers up in Providence, RI. Awesome pool room, has some of the best ambiance of any room I've been in. But what makes it truly special is the touch that Regina Goulding gives it by running the kitchen and making sure that there is fresh Italian food from scratch always available. If you're ever there for a tournament, or just in town on business, stop by anfd try the meatballs...or ANYTHING for that matter. It's awesome.

Another room I have to give credit for incredible food to is Diamond Billiard Club in Chattanooga, TN. Davey Crockett has a special made from scratch every day. (anything from chicken and dumplings, to lasagna, to meatloaf, to brisket, you name it he's cooked it for the special) Davey is a most deffinite foodie, so when he has one of his specials go out of his kitchen door, it needs to meet his expectations of what good food is. I"ve never been dissapointed in the results.

My place serves a Corned Beef sandwich on Rye, with Provolone, Sour Cream, Pickles, and Lettuce. Best damned sandwich I've ever had. Damn! And of course I can't re-create it perfectly - it's always a sad copy.

The Golden Cue in Queens. Often Id order a great Baked Ziti, eat it there, take the rest home, eat it the next night and then again the night after and then finally throw out the rest.

Place called Murphy's we shot league out of for several years had a window that you could order through for the hot wing place next door. It is called Buffalo Company. Guy is from NY and claims he invented buffalo wings. Anyhow, the place makes the best philly steak I've ever had...or I was always just drunk and really hungry.

A little "hole in the wall" place in Charleston S.C., probably closed now had an awesome burger but the best thing was they always served coke in the bottle and ice cold, great on a hot, humid day. Coke always seemed to taste better out of the bottle vs. can.
