NPR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know you gotta eat, but what does what you eat in a pool hall have to do with pool?!?!?!!?

What's your problem???? You put "NPR!!" on the friggin Keychain link as well!! Slow your role! I once POLITELY tried to suggest someone put an NPR related issue on the NPR forum and got red repped by someone who said "Be a moderator if you want to tell people what to do"...Let the mods decide what stays and what goes.

EDIT: I noticed you put "NPR!!!!!!!!!!!!!" on the last 5 threads you've posted to...what is your deal? Did someone Hustle you outta all your money last night????

I don't know if this is off topic or not, but I'm interested to know what the best meals at a pool hall you've had are and where you had them!

I once saw a show on Food Network that had a bowling alley with really great organic gourmet meals that were pretty imaginative. I think this would be great at a pool hall as well!

I've never had a meal any better than McDonald's (and a lot that are way worse) at a pool hall.

Before four out of its six available locations recently closed, Boston Billiards had some of the best food I'd ever had in a pool hall. Their Steak Tips and Turkey Tips (with your choice of vegetable and either fries or rice) was absolutely scrumptious. In fact, here's their menu:

http://bostonbilliardclub.com/Menus-33.htm
(Click on that image of the front cover of the menu to view a very nice PDF of the menu itself.)

Now that the Boston Billiards location near me (Danbury, CT) is closed, the next best is Jack and Jill Q Lounge on Main Street in Brewster, NY. They don't have a website, but I can tell you that it's an old-time pool hall (circa 1960s -- pictures all over the wall of famous players like Allen Hopkins playing there on their tables). They have a full kitchen, and can cook you *anything* -- full course meals included. They have daily "chef specials" such as Cajun-seasoned salmon fillet with veggies and rice, and it's delicious. When I go there, I play on the fastest tables I've ever played on (Gold Crown I's and II's that are meticulously maintained and play like greased lightning) as well as eat very well.

Also, the Dave & Busters chain of amusement parlors in the northeast U.S. (nearest one to me is in Nyack, NY) have a complete menu of full course meals as well:

quit complaining and let the thread move on. And people wonder why there is so much drama on this site.

houston is one of the fattest cities in the world and there's only one poolhall with decent food :(

Casper's Billiards has awwwesome bbq, chicken fried steaks, etc...the biggest onion rings i've ever seen in my life...

Strokers - Palm Harbor, FL

This is easy... Strokers in Palm Harbor, FL has the best food! If you every go.... try the blackened shrimp!!!

Home made tuna and cheese sandwich at a place near Fort Myers in Florida. It is no longer there due to development. They also made fresh milk shakes with fresh fruit. It was unbelievable. You started getting hungry when you were still a 100 miles away. I will add, they sold about 300 milkshakes a day as well as sandwiches. I clocked their gross and they could not sell beer where they were. It didn't matter they made up for it with their other specialties. They easily grossed as much if not more then places with beer. It just shows you you can augment pool with something other the drinking and make money.

Good food is a big draw and with pool rooms going out of business it is "Food for thought".

Gaslamp in San Diego had good food, but I think its closed??

Gaslamp had the best little burgers ive ever eaten at a pool hall. They were like whitecastle size burgers and came with a basket of fries. Perfect size to stuff in your mouth in between shots.

Paradise Billiards in Corpus Christi have daily specials and I had some great Talapia there
Paradise does have some good food. Their fried mushrooms and fried pickle chips make good snacks. But the plain ole grilled ham and cheese is awesome. Theyve also got steaks and shrimp scampi. But the sandwich and a beer is a good combo.

Romine's in Milwaukee has a pretty decent Mexican restaurant in house, and a pizza oven as well as hamburgers etc.

Years ago they converted the Mexican restaurant into a steakhouse, changed the whole decor, waitstaff uniforms, etc. So to answer the original question - best meal I ever had in a pool hall was steak and lobster - and complimentary to boot! Owner invited us on opening night and picked up our meal. The steak was actually pretty good, we ate their a few times, but the theme just didn't last and they went back to the Mexican restaurant.

Around my part of the woods, if you serve alcohol you also have to serve food. The pool halls all have a small kitchen to serve their means but the food is over priced and mediocre at best. I don't go to the pool hall to eat but when I do, I stick to wings and beer. Hard to screw that up.

This is the menu at the fantastic Side Pockets in the northern Kansas City.

Fred <~~~ recommends a lot on the menu

Actually, the food is very good at the Carom Cafe billiards room in Queens, NY. It's also reasonably priced.

The Pool Room in Duluth, GA has some of the best bar food around. Full menu and bar. Some people actually go there for the food. Wings, ribs, steaks it's all good and reasonably priced.
