Best full splice with veneers in the world

what cue is the best playing cue in the world?

How would you prove it?Test it?

If a number of independent test could be made,I am willing to bet this cue plays better

if no one accepts the $1000 offer, the only way to find out is to buy a cue from John and see for your self

Anyone in Dallas is welcome to try mine

John Davis is giving up making full splice blanks. After meeting with John Nemic yesterday John Davis was heard to say he was selling everything. Since he couldn't build one like John Nemics. I heard it with my own two ears! So get your Davis blanks now. While they last.

Larry

PS. I think he was just kidding, but you never know.

Hay Dean!

Bring the cabbage. John makes a very forgiving Cue. The Cues put a natural overspin on the object ball that holds it in a straight line. Especially on long cut shots when the object ball is 5 feet or more from the pocket.

John Davis cues

It was a great experience meeting John Davis and talking about cues and old times. He is truely a gentleman and a super cue maker. He is now making his own line of cues from his world famous full splice blanks. I looked at several and they are fantastic. They can be purchased directly from him for a reasonable price.

its good to see one cue maker compliment another fellow cue maker

Nemic told me good things about the John Davis cues as well

Perhaps I should have been more discrete with my compliments of the Nemic cues

But I as amazed when I saw how good they were.points sharp and even up and down

and its no secret that I love the way Nemic cues play

Looks

I know I will get beat to death about this, but LOOKS are a good part of every cue...You can take 100 average players, and 10 of the top cues made, including the one they play with and paint them all black so they can't see what they are shooting with and they couldn't even tell you their own cue much less which one comes from where and why it's "better." The average player buys a cue because, here it is again, because he likes the way it LOOKS, and they think they can slay the world with..If it was an ugly cue no matter how good it played they would not have it.....The cue in the pictures is not in question, it's fantastic! Just as a general rule what I said I have found to be true, otherwie all cues would look the same and be marketed as to their abilitys, not the way they stand out in appearence...Now go ahead, bash away ..

Send Everglade a PM. He is the maker of the cue. Post #18 of this thread was authored by him.

Sure would like to see pics of the finished cue. John do you have pics you can post?

no photos with finish

Unfortunately I did not take pics when finished. I delivered it to Dean after I buffed it out. He was on the way to the pool hall and wanted to try it out. You can see it most any day around noon at ck's on skillman.

hit!!!

Dean is not lying about the hit of Johns cue. I got rid of an old pre date southwest for one of Johns q's and I would not trade it for the world. I get compliments on my q everywhere I go. Dean is not lying about this John's work is very underrated imho and if you want to get something made by a person who loves making a product that is 100% made for the love of making cues and not the money then John is your best choice.

I'll oblige you...

To think that players can't tell the difference between the hits of cues is as ridiculous as saying they can't tell which of three drinks is different if two are pepsi and one is coke.

In some cases it would be like two being pepsi and one being dr pepper..

People may choose their cues mostly based on looks, but they don't feel the same and many people end up selling those awesome looking cues because they hit like shit.
