Best in each discipline

Hard to say who would be the best TODAY. GORST, FILLER & KACI all come to mind.
Talk about cueists; thems all SNOOKER players.
snooker
I dont know what youre saying here. Literally none of them are snooker players. Kaci is a pool player that happened to win his nation’s small national snooker championship despite not playing the game.

Is Jayson Shaw only your pick because of his high run(s)? Has he ever won a 14.1 tournament? I'm not necessarily disagreeing, just asking. There is more to the game than high runs.
Yeah I think I'd give the edge to the Eurotour guys/alumni for current status insofar as competition is concerned. Niels or Filler - probably Filler.

For my part:

8-ball : SVB
14.1. : Filler or Niels
One Pocket: Fedor. But watching Filler beat Shane at the Predator Vegas event was impressive. Very offensive One Pocket and you could tell Shane's strategy was to keep as much offensive pressure on Filler as possible but Josh just kept getting out from nowhere.
Banks: Fedor
9-ball: Filler. (What happened to Wu?)
10-ball: SVB in a long race with traditional break.
3C: Jaspers
Snooker: This is tough right now. Ronnie is having a hard time again after having a brilliant few years. He can't stay on top forever and can't be considered on top right now at least. Selby just won the Welsh open but I wouldn't put him on top. Judd and Kyren had good 2024s, and of them, I'd pick Judd.
Artistic: Florian. Guy is a wizard

Pay Attention to what I said....
I was coming from the viewpoint of who I thought was the best getting out of jail. Defense vs. Offense. PRO's WIN on defense like 90% of the time.
That said: I seen John give many PRO's fits trying to beat him on defense. Hell, I seen SVB get disgusted and gave the battle away in a 9-ball match. Was game 5 in a race to 9. Guess who won?

12ft by 6ft table(Huge). NO diamond markers for reference. small balls tight pockets and ya get to hit with an 8mm ash cue. have a look...

Today:
Filler, any game, any format, on any American pool table. Can't follow the rules on post 1 because the other players would not be the best;)

i was thinking exactly that yesterday, it didn't matter who he played. then also, it didn't matter what game they played. brutal when he's in that gear, and he almost always is.

he doesn't have the 10-ball break that kaci or shane does. i like an in form, injury recovered, kaci in 10-ball.

Obviously this list is highly subjective.
OP is looking for OPINIONS. There is no right or wrong. I'm not saying I am either.
I just tried to offer a deeper perspective than pick the PRO du Jour.
That said: PRO's win on defense like 80% of the time. They are excellent on offense so they try to win on defense.
Nuff said.

I think it strange that Alex was mentioned once for his one pocket skills and Chohan and Gorst got mentioned twice.
Remember Alex? Gave Tony 8-7, beat him by 18 games in two races to 30. When Feder was asked when he was going to play Alex, he said he wasn’t ready, Alex puts him in places he doesn’t know what to do. Alex might be vulnerable now, he hasn’t been playing one hole.

I agree, a pretty objective measure of who the best player is at a particular discipline (especially one that is as gambling-centric as 1PKT) would be the one that can't get any action. I think there's been some recent chatter about Fedor/Alex, but to this point Alex hasn't had any takers.

Hello everyone. A number of years ago I saw a graphic on here, that might have even been a t shirt, that had all the various disciplines of cue sports and the best in that discipline. How about we do the same with today's players? I have a list of cue disciplines and you put the player you feel is the best at it today. There is only 1 rule though, you can't pick the same player for another discipline. If you don't have a name for a specific discipline, then leave it blank. Obviously this list is highly subjective.

This should be fun.

Your opinion can be viewed as wrong if it’s not based on reality. You’re also the one who said that, “thems (sic) all SNOOKER players. This is very wrong. Surely you don’t want to say that this was just your opinion, so you can’t be wrong.

thorsten isn't the player he once was. he's become very yippy the last couple of years. i don't think he's reached SF in the american 14.1 for many many years.
