Is BEM Maple? I thought it odd that you left out probably the most commonly used wood in cues till I saw BEM and though.. hm.. M could be Maple. I personally love a nice flamed or tiger striped maple with a good coat. Don't know if it's my favorite though, but something that catches my eye.

Amboyna Burl is my favorite ... However, Hawaiian Curly Koa and Snakewood tie for 2nd place ... All of the afore-mentioned woods MUST be AAA Exhibition Grade in quality ...

I gotta go with amboyna burl too. Gorgeous wood.

do you think Diamond would make me a custom table using a burl veneer for the outside?

IT has to be grainy

I forget which ebony it is but I like ebony with grain in it. The other one is just black, but as I understand it, the ebony I like is a cheaper one and easier to come by.

I have several cues made of it. Listed below are some of them, including the SW with the best of it.

You might be thinking of Macassar.
Gabon ebony is the jet black one...you can find it with faint gold graining in it, which I like over complete black. There are alot of types of ebony. Like macassar, mun and black and white.

My favorite is amboyna. But not too far behind that are tulipwood, quilted maple, curley koa, and buckeye burl.

I'll go with Afzelia Burl because that's what my cue is and I love it. Yes, it looks very much like Amboyna. I can't tell much of a difference.

Just in case nobody answered your question. BEM is Birds Eye Maple.

I love Purple Heart for its unique color (not to mention its tone) & the "sleeper" /sneaky look it has especially as a PJ

2nd choice will be Amboyna for its classic & elegant look

3rd is Tulip for its fiery color
4th is KIIROI for its natural yellow color that looks almost like a dye/paint :)

Mine will be a figured Purpleheart. It has to have curls, with black streaks and very purple.
