Sure seems everyone here wants to hawk a custom SP. I have one, blah.
Or you can go to the top of the screen, click on marketplace, click on cues, click on Schon SP. Then take a real good look at the BW 2.
Hey, why not support the people that make this site possible.

And there it is, the reason these threads ar useless.
Op already had his brand choices down, basically. Plus, everybody has their own opinions.
I had a woodworth that was the worst cue I have ever owned. Ccjohn says they are best.

I think I got what you were saying, mon. But that was my point, you feel the woodworth is good, but I thought the one I had was a friggin unpredictable noodle.I guess i was misunderstood. I didn't say i thought Woodworth sneakies were the best. I just said i currently had one that played real good. The reason it plays good is it has an excellent SHAFT. It has a aged birdseye shaft that he obviously custom made and matched with a cheapo blank for somebody. I bought it slightly used off the sale rack at my local room and i knew when i hit the first 2 balls with it it felt good to me. Let me elaborate on my views whats the best sneaky....
In my time i've owned and and used as my personal players these sneakies in this order starting in the 70's. 1 Meucci pre dot, 1 Meucci with the dots when they first came out. 2 Kikels, 2 Scruggs, 1 scruggs fancy, 1 Judd fancy, 1 Diviney, 1 Players butterfly, and the Woodworth sneaky i use now. So i know a little about them.
Some i would modify the shafts and Ferrules like the Meuccis. We used to cut down the ferrules to 1" and thin the handles up a bit. Back then that was a custom...lol The 60.00 Players i turned down the shaft myself to make it a good player. I still have it and when i loan it to somebody they are really amazed how well it plays. But the key is the shaft, pick one out with a good shaft.
If you are strictly looking for a good playing cue #1 is to find one that you can pick up and it feels good hitting balls to you. Its hard to do that ordering online. Look for something thats also inexpensive if you travel to play leagues a lot so you can bang it around. Also look for one with really good tight grain shaft wood with a taper that feels good for you. If you are looking for an investment buy a cue with a good name on it. But remember the investment cues you have to be careful using and the only real difference is in the name. The shafts will all vary even within the same maker. I sold almost every one of the cues above for more money than i paid for them. Some a lot more money. Some i still have.
Some people here mention Tim Scruggs. I have heard that there is a little "affinity" between Scruggs' Sneakys and Bob Frey (?)
