Banjo Picker,
That was really beautiful. It has been almost frigid down here in New Orleans for the past 16 days. We haven't seen anything above 70 degrees in the past two weeks. Brrrrrr.

We're having a heat wave up here in D.C., Joey. It hit 23 degrees today! :o

I will make it to N'Orleans one day in my life. Looks so beautiful there.

When I do come to stay a spell, the action will be with me! :D

You know we have had all the hurricanes we can stand for a while but an Earthquake would be a welcome respite. It has been a while since we heard him rumble.

Give New Orleans a little more time. We are still trying to recover from Katrina but things are improving but it slow. It will be better than ever although it may take more time. The pool halls are evolving and expanding, getting better all of the time. Out of state players drop in regularly to pick up their just-due.

Reed Pierce?

Yes, JAM. He and his brother, Ronnie, have a new, very nice restaurant-lounge-pool room in Byram, first town south of Jackson. The steaks, "MEAT", are very good too.

I'm not saying he just won't gamble, but for the most part, it just ain't his thing. He doesn't go looking for it.

So what should I order when I visit, Bill? Do you have a favorite?

Yeah James lives in OKC (Del City area), but he does frequently travel to Louisiana for action. He told me his biggest score was Flyboy in Baton Rouge one weekend ($150,000).

Oh my gosh! I was there for that - when he sealed the deal it was 5am in the morning (after several days off and on playing) and since it was so late and so many days, there was hardly anyone else there. It was a very surreal event to witness. I couldn't remember the exact amount, though. Thanks for the reminder.

Ribeye, medium rare is great, Joey.

Hello Hemicudas. By any chance would that be Byrum, New Jersey. If so that is a a great little back woods town in the suburbs. I would love to take a ride there and check it out, its about 45 minutes from me.

Thanks,
Frankie

No, Frankie, that would be Byram, Mississippi. The owner beat Efren in the finals in 95 and won the US Open that year. He still plays pretty sporty.

Reid has been a great player for a long time. When I was in Greenwood MS I played a little local tournament and they were all talking about some guy name Buster "I think" that is supposed to be the new hot player in MS. Never heard of him. How close to Reid does he play? What is his whole name?

While we're talking about the money players on the Internet, I heard it through the grapevine that at the time of this writing, there's a battle going on between Bobby Pickle and Liljon in Cookville. Last I heard, it was a back and forth seesaw. Bobby is spotting Liljon the last 2 on the 9-footer.

And Sparky and Sam Monday are in Knoxville, but there's no action to report as of yet! :p

Have James Walden and Gary Abood ever matched up? If so what was the outcome?

Jeremy Jones quit playing? Really? Why? Tournaments, action only? Seems strange.
