best pictures

We are trying to figure out what to do with the walls in our new poolroom. We have decided to paint faint ghostly caricatures of the past greats floating above the current greats who are standing around shooting pool. We have looked through this site and others (BCA, HOF and the usual suspects) and cannot find really good shots especially of the past players. Every site I visit has the same shot of Hoppe for example.
We were going to make caricatures of these picts, but if there is a site with caricatures already done, that would be fabulous...
YOUR HELP WOULD BE VASTLY APPRECIATED!!
 
The Birbeck (sp.?) Twins, a pair of 80+ yr old artists from Philly (one of which, I believe, recently passed away), did a series of portrait drawings of almost ALL of the top players, past and present. The BCA was selling these series of posters. I've seen them many times, in frames, at the BCA trade show. I'd call them and ask them about purchasing the entire series.

You might try the library I did a few years ago and found quite a bit of stuff in LIFE magazine when they were in business.

Can't help you with a site, but here is an old Gillette ad with Hoppe:

AllPosters.com and do a search for billiards. I think you may find what you want.
 
Great pics Bill! I was thrilled to find the pic of Mark Maryo, my mentor. He rarely talks about his pool heyday, but you have a pic of him leading Louis Roberts 6-2, so I know he was a hell of a player!
