Best place to play in Vegas

I would say Mickeys or the Cue Club, Best Billiards is good but its kind of small.
 
End of July there will be some nice Diamond tables setup at the RIO, sign up for the tournaments or try to sneak in ;)
 
i do wantto add that i'm friends with the owner of Mickeys and its a good room too, Cue Club and Pool Sharks are better if your looking for a cheap game, but action in Vegas blows.

LV Cue Club on East Sahara at State Street.

Pool Sharks on South Decatur between Twain and Spring Mountain

Mickey's Cues and Brews on South Eastern at Warm Springs

Best Billiards at East Flamingo and Sand Hill

Where are you staying? Your location might change a recommendation. All four have decent tables. Best's are the best Diamond's. LV Cue Club has seven GC II done by Ernesto. Play fair and tough. Mickey's Diamonds are not covered with Simonis. Pool Sharks has a mixture of Diamonds and GC's.

I think of the ones mentioned, only Best Billiards is non-smoking. Particularly with the dry air that is a big issue for some of us.

If its non smoking they did it in like the last 2 months because i smoke and i smoked in there as did the counter girl.
 
At Best Billiards you can play on a 10-foot Diamond if that's your thing (it's the table Max Eberle practiced on to win the 10-foot 12.1 challenge). For me it was like playing on a football field. Five other 9-foot Diamonds (two of which are in private rooms), two 7-footers and two carom tables. Good Italian food too. Smoking was permitted last time I was there about 4 months ago. Good people, good equipment, well-maintained.
 
cue club should be torn down, pool sharks if one of the most filthy pool rooms I have ever seen. Mickey's is ok, last time I has there the Diamond tables played ok, but it's a little out of the way.
Best billiards is one of the cleanest pool rooms I have ever been in, great tables and great food. Employees are always very friendly. It's a no brainer to me.

I was talking with Sean this week for a bit, hes a good guy and very knowledgeable about the pool scene. I mentioned your name to him as we were speaking of big homes in the area and he had nothing but good things to say about you.

Cant argue with you there, i didnt like the place even when it was new. Im surprised no one has gotten popped in there yet. Maybe they have and i havent heard about it, the area isnt that good to begin with and all you got is kids,

Theres another room that i havent been in in a long time, its called Cue D,s up on Spring Mtn and Jones, mainly a kiddie room but they have been open for about 8 or 9 years now.
Also a few doors down they have a place thats all Oriental that has 3 or 4 Three cushion tables in it, theres no sign advertising it but its mainly Koreans playing in there, no pool tables.
Right next door is a great Chinese restaurant, HK Gardens. Really good Chinese food, authentic, you know its good when you go in and its all Asians eating there, lol.

I think the restaurant you're referring to is HK Star. The food is pretty good but I stopped going there because when it's busy they seat Chinese first even if they come in 10 minutes after non-Chinese.

You are correct, its HK Star. The owners brother also owns a restaurant almost around the corner from that one, its a bit dingy on the inside and cramped but the foods good.

I remember when Sharks opened up in about 93-94 ? Something like that, anyway i stopped by there one day and they werent open yet but Danny D saw me looking in and invited me in to look around and showed me the whole place, which i have to say was pretty damm nice of him seeing as he didnt know me from a hole in the ground and there was still a lot of work going on inside, very nice man.
I also saw the earthquake there , he was something to see woofing at guys and trying to get things going, lol.
What stories those guys could tell you after a few bottles and big meal, probably be a great evening for sure.
 
If Best Billiards is dead to you then you're probably looking for local players... They would be at the 3 rooms mentioned. Cue Club, Pool Sharks & Mickeys. Each one has their locals playin there during the week. Go during their weekly tournaments and league nights and their a dime a dozen...

I know that during the day they have an All Day Rate for $8 I believe and it brings the players daily. Cue Club is mostly 1P players during the day.
