best pool tabe cleaning method ?

There's a lot of emphasis in this thread on vacuuming in only one direction. Why does it matter on worsted cloth?
It doesn't matter what direction - from my experience of vacuuming our 10 tables here for 20+ years, that have always had either Gorina, Simonis, or Andy worsted cloths on them, I think it cleans better to go back and forth. In the directional cloths that existed years ago, it may have looked better to brush / vacuum in one direction only.

thanks for all the input
I picked up a scotch brite lint roller.
Only problem I am having with it is it is picking up cloth fibers. I cant imagine that is good.

At all the top carom rooms and tournaments the tables are vacuumed and sometimes after every match. Big, powerful vacuum cleaner. Pull the chalk dust out of the cloth. Carom cloth costs more than pool cloth and is thinner.

Get a vacuum cleaner.

As for the particles, do you wear a glove? There was a report recently of gloves shedding particles.

Cloth Suggestion for cleaning the table

I made a post a few weeks ago, which didn't get much attention, regarding a new cloth that is supposed to be better than microfiber for cleaning.
Its called a nano towel. They're sold on Amazon as well as other sites. They come in various sizes and are to be used with a little water. Don't clean or dry them with other articles as they do pick up the lint from them. I purchased a few of the smaller ones and they to work really well when dampened to clean the shaft of my cue. They pull dirt, sweat and cue chalk better than micro fiber.
I couldn't guarantee how well they would clean pool cloth, but I think it would be worth trying.

one thing to consider when vacuuming or choosing a vacuum.

if you are cleaning 1 piece slate then not such a concern but if vacuuming a slate with seams, I would be careful with too powerful suction that may loosen the wax or bondo or whatever was used to fill the seams.

best,
brian kc
