That vincitore case looks like a steal.
The porper is from same line as my case and it is very bad.
Outlaw looks interesting what does the inside look like?

It is a leather Instroke 2x4....with Outlaw on it. lol I saw it on Pooldawg (like I said) on a black Friday (day after Thanksgiving) special ($175)....couldn't pass it up, and glad I didn't. I've had numerous It's George cases, and Instrokes....LOVE the look of the Georges, but love the roominess of my Outlaw more (carrying 4 shafts).

I'd like to try one of John's cases (especially the GTF) someday, but no need for another one right now.

Darn, I like those nylon cases. $75 shipping from the USA tho.
Sorry but it seems a little steep as the most I have ever paid in shipping for a case or cue from the US is around $25.

Edit. My mistake. JB said shipping from "us". I took it as US but not capitalized. Makes sense coming from ROC.
Still, 3X4 for that price is good. They look pretty much indestructible.
My wifey said no more cues or you're dead. She didn't mention cases. I think Its time to push my luck.

I think I'm sold on the JB Nylon. I see a lot of votes for Instroke and such, but those are the exact cases I was thinking of when I said, "bling." The JB Nylon case is exactly what I wanted. No frills, no fancy tooling, not even leather, but the protection of their best cases. Under 175.00 out the door and as good a protection as a case at 400.00.

Funny thing is, I have seen guy carrying their 10K Szamboti Cue. in a WAVE CASE, because it offer GREAT Protection.

They come 2x3 to 4x8, and are a S**T LOAD of Protection for a FAIR PRICE!

I also suggest the Vincitore cases. I use one myself, and I love it. Higher-quality case, with a reasonable price tag. This is the one I have.

I mean, wow. Talk about a knock off? I looks identical to an instroke case.... at half the price and half the protection most likely. I'm sure JB would know more, but damn, that thing looks freaking identical.....

I would avoid the Vincitore. I had one (2 X 4 i think) and it fell apart in about two years.

I like the Sterling Wave 2 X 4. I have one now and love the interior. Good job JB Cases. Great bang for your buck right there.

I will put in another vote for the Vincitore. Great cue protection, but poor hardware. Another vote also for the Sterlings with JB interiors, particularly the Wave.

I should have mentioned how exactly the Vincitore case fell apart. The pins at the bottom (you can see them in the photos in this thread) failed and the entire bottom of the case completely fell to the floor rendering the case unable to even hold a single cue. They look OK and all, but the one I had did not impress me with the sub par construction. Your mileage may vary.

The small leather lid hinge looks like a weak link. What am I missing with that critical moving part? After all, if the hinge fails, all the protection is gone. I'm sure you have thought of everything, and I'm missing something here, but that design detail makes me nervous.

Those leather pieces are 7oz and hand sewn.

We also back them with nylon reinforcement and as you can see here we sew through another piece of nylon covering the zippers.

On the body the leather retainers are reinforced the same way with nylon and sometimes metal depending on the application. Under the skin we add further reinforcement to spread the load on the stress points.

We have gone to demonstrations of our product versus the competition's where I have challenged the customer to try and tear our handles and retainers. Typically they can't do it even with two people pulling against each other.

This is one thing I am very sensitive about. It's also one thing that I am fearful of when I let my designs be made by other factories. Despite my best efforts most factories that build cue cases don't "get it" when it comes to stress points on cue cases. They don't understand the weight and motion of cue cases and reinforce accordingly. And they certainly don't do the sort of pull testing we do.

Four years ago I walked into the showroom of a cue case maker and he proudly showed off his cases. He was asking me to advise him on how to be better. I said can I be blunt and brutally honest? He said yes.

Well he wasn't prepared for me to take five random cases and rip the handles off with little effort. I took five cases and simply shredded them by hand in front of him to make my point. Since then he has gotten MUCH better but still occasionally slips up.

So that's the long winded answer to let you know that you don't need to worry about the way our cases are built in this respect. We go way out of our way to insure that they don't come apart easily. Of course the downside is that those who copy us like "Vincintore" brand don't see all the reinforcements we engineer into our cases. We saw another brand copy us and they simply put a single piece of vinyl where you see leather. Predictably all their cases tore up at that point within weeks of being used.

I think the best bang for the buck would be a Its George 2x4. You can find them in the ForSale/Wanted for $200 or less. There hasn't been a new one made in nearly 15 years, so the ones you see are either new old stock, or used. The used ones seem to hold up well to abuse.

If you have the money, invest in a Jack Justis. I've seen old ones (tubes) for as low as $300.

I have 2 ELITE cases and so do two of my team mates. Most solid case I've ever owned...Paid $63.00 for a 2x2 and $84.00 for a 2x4....Will last forever....Great cases....

I'd have to say my new Elite case is one of my favorites. I was surprised at how many nice features they have and how nicely laid out. My only real gripe is the cheap material used on the jump butt pouch but for the price I paid I can't complain that much. I bought it for traveling, not wanting the ramp handlers at the airport to throw my Instroke around but I'm thinking it's going to end up being my main case.
