I'm working over in this area until sat. where are the best rooms to play at night and are there any good weekly tourneys? Thanks, S

crooked cue, corner pockets, cj's those are a few that I have played, I guess you could google them. Tom

Flamingo Sports bar 1230 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St N 33705

Ask for the owner; Dale, or ask for JD, Little Ronnie, Kelly or Glen. tell them Big Mike sent you.

9ft Gold Crown in the front room, 2 - 50 Cent bar boxes in back room.

I am out with a bad cold, or would play you some, I probably won't make it down there until Saturday night.

Just a hop skip and jump over to Largo my fine friend. Starkey road just south of Ulmerton on the west side of Starkey in a strip mall with a directory sign that says BILLIARDS is a pool hall named "The Corner Pocket".

12686 Starkey Rd Largo, FL 33773
727-330-7822

Table #2 is triple shimmed for one pocket play.

Lots of smaller and mid sized tourneys every night of the week

I own 'The CueMan- Billiiard ProShop and Repairs.

I cover all of the St.Pete/Largo/ Clearwater areas

While you are in the area if you want to get together and shoot a while, give me a call or PM with your info.

I also have a 'Mobile' repair business and I set up to do cue repairs, cleanings, re-wraps and such at many of the local pool halls in this area, so I can refer you to good poolhalls to play in or tournaments to compete in.

As has been mentioned:

Crooked Cue, CM's, Side Pockets, Corner Pockets, Flamingo Bar(Gambling), Family Billiards, City Billiards, Franks Bar(tourneys), Strokers(Palm Harbor), Stixs(Palm Harbor), Hammerheads(Palm Harbor)

Plus Many more Bars and Smaller Poolhalls that host weely tournaments with 12 to 24 players. 4 out of 7 days there are larger tourney with 24+ players with entry from $7 to $12 and house matches part to all.

Contact me, my name is: Mike Kennedy Phone# 727-277-9853

PS. If you are interested in looking at or shooting with some custom of high end production cues or vintage cues, I have over 300 cues in Inventory and over 100 Cases about 25 of these are Vintage and collectible cases plus just about every book, vhs, dvd, training materials, accessories, largest selection in the area.

Let me know or contact me and we can shoot, I am a decent shot but as many know on AZ, I lost the use of my right leg due to a major medical infection, so I cant play for hours and hours, but I love to play still, and I can still run a few racks on a good day.

look forward to talking or playing with you,

Mike:thumbup:

Additionally to what's been mentioned...

Crooked Cue has three Diamond Pro Ams (Clearwater)

Family Billiards is by all accounts, a fun pool hall to go to (Clearwater Beach)

Strokers is where the US Amateur National Singles has been held the several years (Palm Harbor)

Thanks for all the replies!

Just got done and headed out to run a few racks local. I will report back later tonite, Scott

Im heading down to the tampa area myself in the am. maybe we can meet up wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. Saturday im heading to daytona for the long weekend.

If you dont contact me or we dont connect, If you are out

I usually have a one handed crutch that I am hopping around with also, I usually have one of my rolling dealers cue cases, which not to many players have.

So, if you see a guy like this at one of the pool halls, take a chance and introduce yourself and ask if the person might be 'mike from AZ' that you asked about the pool halls in the area.

Otherwise, have fun and enjoy the area and all the Pool it has to offer,

Mike 'acedonkeyace' Kennedy

Mike, you know of any weekly bar table tournaments around palm harbor

Sloooooooow out tonite.....

Went to the Flamingo on MLK first. League night, all tables full, so no chance to play. (looks like there would be some good bar table action there)

Next up was CMs. Deadwood. (there was a nice Diamond table there) Bartender sent me over to the Side Pocket on park.

Side Pocket had a VERY nice Diamond that had recently been recovered. Hit a few balls and the houseman said give a call late night as there is usually some 1p going down. (have to work early so back to hotel)

Thanks for all the info, I will try again tomorrow night, S

Sorry about that, I'm not there during the week, so I have no idea what is going on as far as leagues and stuff. I only get down there on Friday and Saturday nights, we usually get a ring game going first, cheap $5 on the 9, then yield the Gold Crown if someone is matching up for a set. If you like to gamble on sports games like football, I can PM you the guys name that does that as well.

Thanks Big Mike!

I am probably not going to stay over this Saturday, but I will stop in if I do. Next trip I will send you a pm in advance,Scott

Wednesday Night - Primetime in Dunedin: Details below:

The Strokers 9-ball tournaments on Fridays - Info here

https://www.facebook.com/strokerspa...9543827087974/829543797087977/?type=1&theater

It's a bit of a drive from St.Petersburg, but the level of competition is worth it.

Both are good places, but Strokers is the better pool room, especially if you need any shaft/tip work done. Rolando works the door and has a repair lathe behind the counter.

Jt.....

Thanks for the info on the tourneys. I'm probably going to go to Strokers Friday night.

Tonite I stopped in the corner pocket in largo. They had Gandys with blue Simonis and a nice tight one mentioned I practiced on. Nobody was gambling, just a few league players. Bartender said there is action there on fri-sat on table 1...... Thanks for all the tips,S

Crooked cue......

Stopped at the crooked cue tonite. Nice place, well cared for tables, and a good bar. Leagues were finishing up and I just missed a couple of AZBrs.

Thanks to all who have replied! Scott
