But generally speaking, regardless of materials used, the larger diameter the tip the more forgiving it will be. 13mm is a good starting point.
I used a 13.25mm one time and it was very "point and shoot" on center ball shots but also really high deflection if you need to spin the ball, thats the trade off with larger tip diameters.
I have been using a Predator Vantage shaft, 12.9mm and low deflection shaft for the last 2 months and I'm really liking it. Its as close to best of both worlds that Ive found.
