But generally speaking, regardless of materials used, the larger diameter the tip the more forgiving it will be. 13mm is a good starting point.
I used a 13.25mm one time and it was very "point and shoot" on center ball shots but also really high deflection if you need to spin the ball, thats the trade off with larger tip diameters.
I have been using a Predator Vantage shaft, 12.9mm and low deflection shaft for the last 2 months and I'm really liking it. Its as close to best of both worlds that Ive found.

I like the black REVO shaft for its visibility. Whatever you play best with, feel comfortable with is the best for you. It's a custom/personal feel thing. Try different diameter and different length shafts to see what fits.

To answer your question I'll revert back to my upland bird hunting days when asked what hunting dog is best ?
It's the one you have now , same thing with playing pool , which cue and shaft is best .
Some cues have a sweet spot if you will that produces consistent positive results as long as you do you're part with a straight stroke .
This works for me and you're results may vary ha ha I wish you well on finding a answer to you're question .

no such thing. find one YOU like. no offense brother but this is almost as bad as asking 'what's the best tip?'. you're just gonna have to hit a few. hate to say this again but the indian is WAAAAAAY more important than the arrow.

I dont think you can go wrong with the vantage, I really like it. I used to use a Z3 which is just a touch lower deflection then the Vantage but the smaller diameter of 11.8 on the Z3 can and will punish you if youre not 100% locked in, but the Vantage is much more consistent for me as far as accuracy and amount of spin i want on the ball. It didnt take me long to adjust to the Vantage
The most accurate potters seem to be the snooker players. What kind of shafts do they use?

They all use wood, think a lot of them are wooden cues made by John Parris, but he has something ridiculous like a 10 year waiting list if you want to buy one of his cues. Snooker has been very traditional, but there has been a recent trend of players moving to titanium ferule to reduce deflection instead of brass which was the norm before (before that never really heard snooker players talk about anything equipment related to reduce deflection).
There was an interesting episode of Karl Boyes Youtube channel where he had Gary Wilson (pro snooker player who also plays some pool tournaments) talking about his pool cue and they ended up getting into a lot of detail about how the ferule material effects deflection, but also about how wood and carbon deflect differently. He mentioned something I hadn't heard before, the harder he hits a shot with a wood cue the more deflection he has, whilst with a carbon cue the harder he hits it the less deflection you get. Don't actually have experience of playing with a carbon cue to corroborate that myself, but found it interesting. He sees snooker as his main career so he doesn't want to get used to something to different from his snooker cue at pool, but said if pool was his main priority he'd play with carbon as he feels disadvantaged at playing power shots using a wooden cue.

No such thing as a point and shoot shaft. It's 99% technique, and knowledge.

much thinner than pool players, Gary mentions his snooker tip is 9mm in that video. But they are also hitting smaller balls so not sure it transfers, he uses an 11 mm tip for pool. He also mentions needing a longer cue for pool than snooker as you need more power. So not convinced you can say just copy snooker players for a different sport when even snooker players change their equipment for pool.
Not sure if it relates to accuracy, but I don't think I've ever seen a snooker player use a closed bridge, although that's going into technique rather than equipment

The best hunting dog is the one you have now , just like what's the best cue & shaft the same what you have now , you need to learn what it takes to find the sweet spot .
