i didnt read all the posts but it depends on your skill level and what you want it for. if to hone hone your shooting of the balls get a tight pocket table.
if you also want a nice furniture piece get and older brunswick wood table.
and if others are going to play on it you want 5 inch pockets or it will be no fun for them.
but get simonis 860 cloth or 330 tournament cloth.
most will get a table that is close to what they play on in their leagues.

Another reason to stay away from the GC3. Both the design and the construction were poor. Posted by a friend on FB:

Maybe I need more time to process this, but I for the life of me can't imagine how this could happen. Ripping jeans from fly to knee is no easy feat. Just the forces involved....wow. I'd understand if he was running past and a pocket caught, but the fly? Pure bewilderment over here.
Many GC3s had problems with fit and finish. Part of that is in the design, so that if it is possible to put a table together so the castings are not set flush, some idiot, part-time table installer will do it wrong.
At least Brunswick finally got rid of the screwed up scorewheels.
I hit myself with the CB in the nuts one time. Try and figure that one out

Oh I get the table flaw. That part is easy. Hooking onto it with the fly of your jeans with enough force to rip them down to the knee is where I'm struggling lol.
Now maybe not all jeans are made the same, but the ones I've had the pleasure of trying to tear apart bc they were already beyond donation level were very tough to tear.

My 2 biggest complaints about Brunswick tables:
- There is WAY too much metal on them. Just ripped a bunch of skin off my right knuckles on a score wheel yesterday and have dinged quite a few shafts on them.
- The pocket inserts are trash. The plastic and metal pieces around the pockets can make cueing impossible and snag everything unless they're perfectly installed. Same on the receiving end: if you hit the corner of that insert with a ball, it's not going to fall... The classic Brunswick "clunk".
I 100% prefer Diamonds or Predators over Brunswick, but when set up correctly with everything tight and flush the GCs are fine.
and flush castings are rarer than hen's teeth. i play on gc 4's and gc 5's and there's little difference in this regard from the gc 3's i used to play on. installer errors but a good design would have prevented that

ive got a ton of hours on brunswick tables. only thing i ever got hurt on one, was my pride.
and never saw any kind of table injuring someone all by itself. just like i never heard of a gun shooting anyone by itself.
but the way i see some treat tables and how they act in a room i can see how they can mange to get hurt.

It is super annoying to be playing shape and realize that if you shoot that ball into that pocket, it will necessitate a trip around the table...so, then I'm playing short side shape and hoping to nudge that ball a little so it can find the pot that already has balls in it!
No offence intended, but if having to take a few additional steps in the given direction after the rack is over is what drives your pattern choices. I think you might have some room for improvement in your game..., if you're willing
