I played on a team called "moose and a hooker". Moose was the name of the bar we played for and the hooker was an 80 year old lady that was the luckiest person I've ever met. Almost every time she missed she would hook the other guy. She beat some of the better players in our league. The games would take forever though. We always gave her a hard time about being the "hooker" and since it was kind of an inside joke she always got embarassed when we referred to her as that. The team I play for now is called the "Pussy Willows". Don't ask me where the team captain comes up with these names.

My APA all Women's Open Division team was "Octopussy" (when we Q'ed for Vegas they would not let us use it, so we called ourselves Octochicks but had the correct name in chinese on our shirts)


but my all time fav was one of my first teams, out of a bar in lower Manhattan called "Toad Hall" and our name was Reservoir Frogs... I thought of and I still think it was brilliant. I beleive they still use that name today...

You played for Toad Hall?? My team just played against Sinko De Ocho from TH in the tri-annuals last week. Reservoir Frogs is a great name and so is Octopussy... :D Where do you play out of now?

I always wanted to name my team Pocket Pool Pros. Not sure if would be allowed though. :p
 
I moved to Atlanta a few years ago (damn it has gone by quick) I now play out of a bar called the Independent but do not even know my teams name?

How About Worst Names?

Several years ago, we tried to enter the BCA 8 Ball Team event as the "Helen Keller Billiard Acadamy". Luckily, common sense (and John Lewis) prevailed. We played as the #1 team from our sponsor. Our depraved thoughts included entering the tournament room with dark glasses, tappers and someone to lead us to the tables.rolleyes: Two years ago I swear I saw the "Ray Charles School of Pool entered in the team event!:eek:

I train the youngsters at the local Focus Playgroup, and have named them the Elves. It sends a thrill down my spine when, after my pep talk, they run into the arena chanting "LET'S GO FOCUS ELVES". Bless em.

BCAPL in all their wisdom requested that we not use either of these names:

Helen Keller Billiard Academy or Jerry's Kids. Our captains name is Jerry. We envisioned arriving with dark glasses and jump sticks. We wound up playing as the Las Vegas Cue Club - Jerry's Team. Really exciting! No sense of humor I suppose. Must be they know us too well.

The other night I was playing on one side of the room with a league playing on the other.

Apparently, it was the playoffs or the last night of league and the manager got on the microphone and announced, "The winner of the Tuesday night league is "Scratch My Balls"."

I about fell out of my chair.
