Best Tip for Break Cue

Each year there seems to be another great break tip coming out. For those of you who keep up with it would you mind suggesting your favorite tip for a break cue.

My old hard, layered tip that I had Predator install on my BK2 finally disintegrated. I was practicing with the BreakRak and hitting them about as hard as I could when most of the layers went flying. It was old and had a chip missing out of it and well, it was time..

Now I'm looking for the next BEST BREAK CUE tip.

Thanks,

I have a Sumo hard tip on my BK 2. Put on about 5 years ago. Mike Webb told me most of the Pro's were playing with at the time good enough for me..Hits like a brick and has never lost its shape

Well ...

I have 2 break shafts for my J&J. One is phenolic, and the other one I had Bob Owen (Shurtz custom cues) put on one of his 'super dub' tips for $20.
I use the shaft that Bob worked on all the time, and have never gone back to the phenolic tip. It breaks good, and grips the cueball good, and it jumps pretty good too.

Locally, someone mentioned IceBreaker. Don't know anything about it. Just sayin... any thoughts....?

Thanks,

BCA Legal?
Samsara

BCA has lifted the ban on phenolic tips.

I'm happy with the phenolic tip that comes factory on the Predator break cues. I've had 2 Samsara's, both played great but they would chip chunks off every now and then. It seems like a common problem with them (there's a thread on here with a lot of members having the same problem).

If the BCA bans phenolic tips again, I'm going to try "Odega"? Heard good things about them.

I like the samsara.
I really like madman break tips though.
Phenolic tips are good and G-10 tips are good too.
On my break cues I put a madman on though.

Some IceBreakers have split in half. They are made backwards too. The leather should be around the outside and the G-10 material should be in the very center.

13mm Layered Boarskin on my Action RNG07. Hell the whole cue cost about as much as the tips previously mentioned and breaks better to me than any phenolic tip I've ever used.

Not a fan of phenolic because I can't make the cue ball go where I want and can't seem to make a decent break. With a leather tip, I can break solid and start the rack with a decent spread to decide a run out on barboxes 9-ball. I play 8-ball 9-foot and can usually drop at least two on the break depending on how loose it was put together and if the rack is spot on or not.

All personal preference man.

I really like the Samsara tip which I have on my BK2. If i picked a cue off the street and wanted to put a break tip on it Samsara would be it. With the BK2 I am able to jump over full balls fairly easily for long distance jump shots which is a bonus too.

I actually love the Sonic Tip by Mezz that comes stock on my deep impact pro shaft. It's very hard but has abit of a rubbery feel to it. Doesn't look or feel like leather, definitely some kind of synthetic material but isn't phenolic.
Can't say for sure if its legal or not by which rule book but it is stock from Mezz so it should be fine. I think.
They're pretty cheap from Mezz too.
