I recently switched to a White Diamond and I have been happy with it...

It holds chalk much better which is important to me...

I agree

I also agree with this. I'm very pleased with my White Diamond tip. The only other tip I break well with is a WB Water Buffalo.

white diamond phenolic tip by piccone? if its the phenolic one it will delaminate over time. i have 3 friends who use them and they delaminated over time.

If it delaminated, then the tip wasn't phenolic. Phenolic tips aren't layered...

I spoke to Rick Matzke from seyberts a few days back and he strongly suggested the white diamond tips by piccone.

IDK Jude, I don't think you want to be breaking with a Moori medium or anything similiar.
.
Actually, Im breaking with a cheap Viking right now with a flattened but not mushroomed moori medium on it. It hits plenty hard enough, and when I hit the head ball squarely, Im parking the cueball 70%+ of the time.

White Diamond.

Get them on e-bay also ... I think it was 3 for $10.00 or something like that.

One caveat ... it will pop off easy if you don't scuff up the feferrule a bit and the tip bottom.

I had this happen twice, then I used a tip pic to put some tiny wholes in the back of the White Diamond and it's been on for about 3 years now.

Not the greatest player on Earth here, but with this tip I have made the break my best shot.

My $0.02. YMMV.

So long as it doesn't mushroom, I'm fine with it. Seriously.
I agree. I've got a Moori medium on my J/B and it breaks and jumps very well. I've also broken many years with my playing cue wich had Le Pro tip on it at that time.

I discovered over the years that the aspect which has the greatest influence on my break is not the tip or the weight of the cue but the rate of glucose in my blood. :D ---> concentration, accuracy, power ;)

ok it says fiber-resin... but its layered as it says here http://www.piconecues.com/id4.html

it delaminates tho.. 3 of my friends had theirs delaminated.

Hi,

are you aware that the WDs have been modified? I heard that the old one was hard to glue, and the new one works better with standard CA or epoxy glue.

Afaik, the older one was really white, while the new one has a "cream"-colour.

So it would be interesting to know whether the WDs your friends owned were first or second generation. Unfortunately, Mr. Piccone sells the new generation under the old name.

Regards,

Detlev

This White Diamond tip, how does it compare to phenolic n mezz break tip?
Is it harder or softer?
I don't like the feel of phenolic tip, way to hard n hard to control. I'm using mezz break tip, so far so good.
